Welcome to the newest Fizz Hangout! Every Friday, you all can stop by the weekly Fizz Hangout post and ask questions (to us or to your fellow patrons), discuss recent bonus scenes and/or podcasts with each other, and catch up on all the goodies you might've missed!

HANGOUT QUESTION: we love seeing your response to questions about the Like Us series, and it helps facilitate some awesome discussions! Each week, there'll be a new "hangout question" that you can answer in the comments, if you wish! The question this week is...

What has been your favorite Marvel movie and/or TV show thus far? For us, we're really digging Ms. Marvel right now. It's definitely in our top 3! (Plus, we adore the Ms. Marvel comics!)

Weekly Recap

Happy Friday, magical & superheroic beauties! We are deep into the editing cave at this point. We've decided that MISFITS is something we don't want to spoil too much. So expect light teases (The lightest of light!) until it's release in July. Other news, we are finalizing the "photo" cover of Misfits and it looks ah-mazing! As we mentioned before, it took us a bit of time to find the perfect Donnelly but we feel like we got pretty lucky with this one 💚

All of the main content for this month will be dropping next week (the last week of June), and we once again thank you all for your patience! During crunch months for us, we tend to have all the content come out near the end since we have to prioritize the book (in this case Misfits), and so we really appreciate everyone understanding the delay. But rest assured, the bonus scenes and podcasts are still on their way!

As always, don't forget to read the more news section. We have more updates for all of you there. In case you missed it, here's what went down this week on Patreon:

- Teaser Tuesday: Teaser Tuesday #2: Misfits Like Us

- Announcement: The Bonus Scene in the Special Edition of Headstrong Like Us is...

- Announcement: The Bonus Scene in the Special Edition of Charming Like Us is...

MORE NEWS

💗 Sweepstakes: Berkley is giving away print editions of Addicted to You and Ricochet. These new editions include never-before-seen bonus material! Enter here.

💗 Signed Book Store Restock: This will still be happening in July (most likely end of July). The restock will include the Addicted Series, Calloway Sisters (both the new editions and original editions), Bad Reputation, and Misfits Like Us. You will be able to ask for character notes for ONLY Bad Reputation, Misfits Like Us, Infamous Like Us (while stock lasts), and Love & Other Cursed Things. We won't be offering character notes for any other books, including the new covers of the Calloway Sisters.

(As a reminder: We order lots of books, but we are limited by the space in our house. So we can't always order hundreds and hundreds of each title. If a title does sell out, we're planning on having more restocks.)

For more info about the signed store, we have an FAQ page

💗 In case you missed this news, there will be brand new covers for the Like Us series 🎉  These will be illustrated covers. They'll replace the ebooks, and the print editions will be special editions. Both the paperback & hardcover will include one Patreon bonus scene in the back of each Like Us book. We're still estimating that they'll be completed this year. They're being designed by the amazingly talented Haley Secen ✨

The original Like Us series paperbacks with the faces will still be available online, and for the rest of the Like Us series, you'll have a choice between the face cover or the illustrated cover for print. This way you can complete your collection if you already have the face covers

💗 November 4th-6th, we'll be attending Shameless Book Con 2022 in Orlando, Florida

Andrea

My favorite has been WandaVision, nothing has kept me on the edge of my seat more 😭 can’t wait for all the Misfit teases and first looks 🖤

gabriella 📖☁️🧸

I think my favorite thus far has been Wandavision (which meant I loved the new Dr Strange too!!) Glad to hear you’re loving Ms Marvel, I was planning on watching that this weekend! So excited for Misfits, hope you both have a great weekend🤍

Megan

My favorite Marvel show has been Falcon and Winter Soldier. I can't really decide on a movie though. Maybe civil war?

vicki bishop

I loved Thor Ragnarok (I'm really looking forward to Thor Love & Thunder)!

Megan Garcia de Leon

I’m the crazy one but Loki has been my favorite show and the OG Iron Man

Megan Garcia de Leon

Are we still going to get the first chapter of the book before it comes out?

Cathe

For me nothing beats Infinity War though I’m looking forward to the upcoming releases!

madzz

The first avengers movie, that release was very exciting all the super heros coming together. Black panther too, there was a lot of excitement in the theatre for it. I do think marvel does a better job with limited edition tv series. I liked Wanda Vision, winter soldier and falcon. I like Ms Marvel so far. I am going to reserve judgement though.

Jacqueline

Without a doubt X-Men and X-Men the Last Stand!

Lauren Gibbs

I'm not super in to Marvel unfortunately (Lo don't come for me 🤣🤣), but I've loved watching interviews with the star of Ms. Marvel! She's a GEM! 💕🤌🏻✨

Allyson M

I just have to share this…I went on Amazon to do the preorder for Addicted to You and Ricochet. It was late at night and I guess I wasn’t paying attention. That was Monday night. Tuesday I had the emails that I “thought” verified my preorders. Then on Thursday Ricochet arrived in the mail 😮 I was so confused. I guess I stumbled upon a different Amazon link. I double checked to see if maybe it was a person selling it but nope it was Amazon. Now I’m not complaining because I didn’t have that book yet. Anyways, that was my funny yet amazing late night shopping story😁

A spector

Disney + there’s a show On Pointe, it’s exactly what I imagine for little Beckett with ballet training

Lordofandoms

Daredevil and The Punisher ✨😍

Lordofandoms

And Captain America: The Winter Soldier ✨

Illyana

I totally agree! US Ballet training is titularly shown in that docu! :D

Illyana

Hey best fwienddd(s), I think my fav MCU character is OBVIOUSLY groot :P! So probs Guardians of the galaxy! I think those movies and the characters are very different from the comics and the creative liberties they took really paid off! As oppose to copy and pasting botchly a comic run/character. All the while not treading on Star Wars toes! It's hard to make anything space related and not think SW did it best unfortunately. So I'm gonna give my olympic metal to them !

Illyana

What about you guys? :D Who's your fav MCU character/movie? I remember you guys gave the top place(s) (in pod #84) to the MCU ranking to... 5. Loki 4. Endgame 3. Civil War 2. Ragnork 1. Infinity War

Illyana

But I also may be grossly misremembering XD

Teresa

I liked Doctor strange 2 and iam a big Wanda fan, and i love a good "villain" , so combining them both doctor strange was a great watch. I also enjoyed all the marvel shows. For Misfits what characters are really singing the loudest to you and do you what's the extra podcast going to be this month?

Teresa

Oh another question that I meant to ask back when infamous came out , how and why did you decide that both Jane and Maximoff would have girls?

A spector

The due dates of the babies fall in the season of their bodyguard parent, autumn and winter Thatcher and Farrow.

Illyana

OH OH OH! Forgot to chat about this! SO. The only book i'm reading rn (exclusive of comics) is the thrawn trilogy in Star Wars. And as you may know he is the Thanos of Star wars and is like... THE BEST protagonist/villian/protagonist ever. Daddy Vadar is cool but Thrawn is REALLY cool. In a different type of way. and bruh as i'm reading this, i see CONNOR RICHARD COBALT. I would like to proceed in adducing the evidence below to make the claim to the judge (ok pretend ur a judge becca play along for the sake of the metaphor) that Connor cobalt = Grand Admiral Thrawn = Connor Cobalt: Like Connor Cobalt is Thrawn! The way he speaks the way he is calculated etc. They did a comic run in 2018 of the first novel but honestly it doesn't do him justice because the way he speaks lacks a bit of character in the comics imo and makes him sound like a robot. But in the novels, just even the first interaction Thrawn has with the empire he pretends not to know their basic (aka equivalent of english) and moves in a manner of distginushed ravenclaw being but are also fierce fighter and not just key strategist. One of the ways that he would study his adversaries to study the artwork/artfacts that were born from that planet and go from there on. Sherlockian if you will. He also never discloses how many languages he speaks and is usually silent but always studying. Before Reva (lol disney), he was the only person to figure out the puzzle that Darth Vadar = Anakin Skywalker, which was the biggest kept secret of the galaxy. The only other person living in the empire to know, was obviously Palpatine. But Thrawn never told anyone, it was just his own riddle he solved on his own (hi Connor). In fact a huge fan theory was that Thrawn would make a small cameo during Kenobi show because timeline wise he would be a young general learning the ways of the empire/sith only to betray them later on for his own purposes. ANYWAY, it's confirmed by Ashoka in that ep with her in mando season 2 that she's looking for Grand Admiral Thrawn so it's pretty much confirmed that when all the tv shows align (Bobba fett, ashoka, mando and more) that he will be the big bad. I go back and forth in my head hoping that they would dedicate a show to him as a protagonist (because Thrawn steals the show everytime he enters the chat... much like our resident thrawn in the famous ones) And i can't in the back of my mind help but see Luna in her head reacting and calling Uncle Connor general Thrawn. And him being amused by it and not NOT saying that's true :P XD Ok i'm going to cool off now XD

Krista & Becca Ritchie

Now that I think of it WandaVision really was the ULTIMATE nail-biter show where every single week, I couldn't wait for the next one and thought about it every single day leading up to it. It was truly the most addicting of them all! ~ B

Krista & Becca Ritchie

Whoa you got the Berkley print of Ricochet already? Or was it the indie edition (the cursive lettering on the cover) that showed up? 💗💗

Krista & Becca Ritchie

Definitely need to watch this! We are obsessed with ballet documentaries and shows 💗

Krista & Becca Ritchie

After reading Star Wars comics, I'd have to say that Star Wars does space better in comics than the Marvel universe. But maybe that's just bc I like the Marvel comics when they don't involve so much space lore bc I feel like I'm always missing hugeeee things that've taken place during "spacey tie-ins" and it's impossible to really catch up. ~ B

Krista & Becca Ritchie

Loki, Thor, Scarlet Witch, and Captain America are prob my four favorite characters in the MCU, followed closely by Doctor Strange. But it's so hard to pick a single fav bc I feel like certain proprieties some of them shine more, but I am always, always itching to see more Loki in any movie. I also love sibling relationships, and they did Thor & Loki's so well. That ranking still holds strong of our top favs lol!

Krista & Becca Ritchie

Ah we've decided not to give too much away for Misfits before the release, so we might not answer that one 😜 The Extra Podcast will be a surprise! It should be coming pretty soon, as well as the bonuses xoxo

Krista & Becca Ritchie

Ooh this might be spoilery territory since their kids haven't been born yet, so we prob can't answer this one 💗

Krista & Becca Ritchie

Okay, you sold me. I'm gonna have to read these comics. Thrawn = Connor (honestly, that got me right there before you even described why 😂) I'm excited that he might appear in the shows!! ~ B

A spector

Ripley’s birthday is in Winter, really hoping all the Seasons kids are born according to their parents’ seasons and this is a thing… ❄️

Allyson M

It’s the Indie edition. I thought they had been pulled and we couldn’t get them anymore.

Sarah

Top 5: Scarlett Witch, Thor, Nebula, Loki, Hulk

Illyana

It's required reading then :P <3 And If i may add another suggestion. 'On Pointe' is a great documentary for US Ballet training (focused on the Balanchine Technique of Ballet. Which just means, more 'showman'-ship. So big jumps, more athleticism, a strong sense of self-identity in the ballet company, a show every night, and just go big! you know?). Vs. What we have in Europe which can be seen in the Documentary, 'Blood, Sweat and Tears' which is less focused on a show every night (in Milan and in Paris we used to have only maybe 1-2 nights a week). Very much about costuming, very artistically dense set designs, acting, pointe technique, and FLEXIBILITY and just a lot more practice than performance. Everything here in Europe is also a lot less about identity and the way we dressed was a lot more soviet-ised shall we say, so when we were little girls and boys starting off we all looked the same, and were discouraged to wear nail polish, short hair, gain unreasonable weight etc. Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ImvYuvKVvO8. If you want to go even FURTHER, recruitment process for the most part of Milan, Paris and in Moscow can be seen in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzzQDAW2Vzc) In part the biggest difference/influence between the two, is that in the US ballet companies are privatised while in Europe they are either partially (Royal Ballet in London) or fully funded (Paris, Milan and Moscow) by their governments (So when Russia was the USSR, a lot of ways the Marinsky Theatre stayed alive was creating ballets that spread USSR propaganda to stay relevant!) while in the US they do not allow such influence. Hence why they have to perform 4x as much because they make their money through private donations and through selling tickets.

Illyana

I LOVE that you're loving the SW comics... Even more motivating to start... :)

Illyana

I would have to totally AGREE WITH YOU on all of them except Thor... Thor's Chad energy is a bit too strong for me :PPP I love that you love Captain America like me! Everybody's fav between Steve and Tony is always Tony! And While I love Iron Man, Steve's whole story and true blue americanism shines a room.

Illyana

Hahah I listen when you guys talk about these things! I always listen to my friends :D

Illyana

Yessss! Love that I convinced you! And Keep in mind when you read the Thrawn comics its not AS good, but it will for sure give you the gist of Thrawn as a character. They are currently Filming the Ashoka show and that's due to come out next year. I toil with wanting Thrawn to be the big bad in that show OR have his own show. Cuz trust me Thrawn ISSSS a protagonist, just like Connor. Also I can't wait to see Thrawn roast Mando in live action... it would be like for me, if Connor were roasting and interrogating Thatcher... which did happen... kinda? in Sinful? Ah. I am so excitedd!!!!1
