2600 Patrons! Thank you so, so much!! (Patreon)

Hello, lovely magical & superheroic patrons! ☺️💕

We truly can't believe how much our Patreon has grown in four and a half years. If we told ourselves four years ago there'd be over 1000 patrons here, we likely would've believed aliens would make a landing on Earth before then. So the fact that over 2000 of you are here is stuff of magic to us.

When we started our Patreon, we didn't have very many expectations of how it'd turn out. This career can be financially unstable, and we were at a big period where we were uncertain how our futures were going to look in terms of writing full-time. We'd written so many extras for free (remember the Whatever It Takes web series on Wattpad? *memories*) but we knew we had to stop because we couldn't afford to do things like that anymore, and we needed to better business women (the Cobalts would've given us a big ole side-eye in our early twenties -- we used to even ship out books, eating costs and losing money, bc we felt badly charging so much for shipping in our store). Our hearts are just very much in the spirit of giving. Maybe it has to do with being twins, as we get so much more joy giving to each other than to receive. But likely, if you're a "giver" out there, you totally know what we mean. 

And then some readers suggested we get a Patreon because they'd love to support our work. To have a place where we could continue writing more beyond our novels and possibly have more financial stability felt like a positive thing. 

This was simply the best thing we've ever done in our careers. You all reinvigorated our love for writing, our happiness, our hope for the future. Patreon has given us inspiration and the mental headspace to keep doing what we love day-in-day-out without any doubt monsters creeping in. 

It's because of all of you that we continue to do what we love full-time and still have an absolute blast doing it 🥰🥰 Not all readers love long sagas featuring couples after their HEA, so we're incredibly grateful that all of you have found our work and that you don't just want after-the-HEA kind of books but you also want those domestic character-driven bonus scenes. Because in our heart-of-hearts we love writing about these characters. It doesn't matter if it's in book form or bonus form, we just really, really love to write them 💗 

This is our long-winded way of saying thankyouthankyouthankyou. 

We've had an incredible year this year and it's not even over yet, but we haven't taken anything for granted. As we were four years ago when we started this, we're here to write what we love and that's always what we'll continue to do. 

For those new here, Patreon lets you set "goals" for hitting patron subscriber numbers. For each goal, we've always written a special bonus scene suggested and voted on by the patrons. Back in April we hit our 2000 patron goal, and the patrons voted and this bonus scene won:

We're so excited to write this one, and it's our main priority after Misfits Like Us releases! It's likely this will be coming to you next month (August) 🥳

Never in our wildest dreams did we think we'd hit 2500 patrons so soon after hitting 2000. We couldn't be more grateful. Back when we hit 2000, we decided we wouldn't be setting up anymore patron goals. 

2000 is a dream, and in truth, we felt like we reached all our goals on Patreon. It was the pinnacle of something we never imagined possible, and we didn't want to expect more than we've achieved. But we know all of you were looking forward to more special bonuses, and we loveeee writing them for you. 

We're also trying to be better about not biting off more than we can chew. As our workload has changed, it might be a struggle for us to keep continuing doing special bonuses when they can come at random times that we can't plan for. We also know the time it's taking to do Special Bonus voting rounds has been taking us a lot longer. Admittedly, we put a lot of pressure on ourselves for the special bonus scenes. Since we know all of you have voted on them, we always want to make sure it's the best it can be. Sometimes that means writing more than we even intend. Different ones have been as much as 5 times the size of an average bonus scene here. 

So going forward, there won't be any more special bonus scenes for hitting patron number goals, but we're going to find new ways to incorporate special bonuses throughout the year. We know you all love getting to vote on what we write, and we don't want to take that away. So after the 2000 special bonus releases, we'll start brainstorming when/how we'll do special bonuses in the future 💓 Likely, when there's a less hectic month for us that we can devote to writing a super lengthy bonus, we'll decide it's a good time to drop a vote. We are chaotic that way 😂 But we hope you all can understand this decision!
