Welcome to the newest Fizz Hangout! Every Friday, you all can stop by the weekly Fizz Hangout post and ask questions (to us or to your fellow patrons), discuss recent bonus scenes and/or podcasts with each other, and catch up on all the goodies you might've missed!

HANGOUT QUESTION: we love seeing your response to questions about the Like Us series, and it helps facilitate some awesome discussions! Each week, there'll be a new "hangout question" that you can answer in the comments, if you wish! The question this week is...

The Addicted to You new print edition with bonus content is out in the world and the special editions of the Like Us series will be arriving soon! So this question is inspired by them: other than bonus scenes, what kind of bonus content do you like to see in special editions? Do you like text messages, playlists, anything else? 

WEEKLY RECAP

Happy Friday, magical & super heroic beauties!! August is winding down, which means you will have all the bonus content for the month very soon. It's been a jam-packed August for us, and we're just so pumped to head into September. But really...October has our hearts. Fall, anyone? We LOVE when the leaves change on the trees and the cozy, warm sweater season. 

Before we even make it to October, we have some fun stuff going down in September. Yesterday on Instagram, we announced that the new special edition covers for the first three books in the Like Us series will be released in September. So any Maximoff & Farrow lovers can rejoice! We might be biased, but these new editions are so freaking adorable! We're obsessed with the art (created by Haley @wearecallowaydoc) and how it totally channels the Like Us series. It's such a plus having Haley, a longtime reader of the series, creating the art for these covers. It just makes them extra special in our eyes. And we've been working on them since the top of the year to make sure they're "just right" so we hope you all love them as much as we do. Ah, the tease! But September is almost here 😉

August isn't over YET, and this week has been podcast-heavy! We absolutely LOVED gushing about Misfits Like Us, and this "All About" podcast turned out to be one of our favorites. For audiobook listeners, we have officially been told by Audible that Misfits is in production. We're still estimating about a 3-4 month wait  for the audio (October/November).

Audiobook Narrator Announcement: We're so happy to share that Michelle Sparks will voice Luna Hale and Alan Carlson will voice Donnelly! Unless something falls through with their schedules, this should be final, and we loveeee both of their voices, so we're so excited to hear them bring Luna & Donnelly to life for Misfits Like Us.

💗 Like Us Series Covers: there will be brand new covers for the Like Us series soon. These will be illustrated covers. They'll replace the ebooks. The print editions (paperback & hardcover) will be special editions that include one Patreon bonus scene in the back of each. UPDATE: The first three will be released in September, with the rest of the series releasing at the end of the year. 

They're being designed by the amazingly talented Haley Secen ✨

The original Like Us series paperbacks with the faces will still be available online, and for the rest of the Like Us series, you'll have a choice between the face cover or the illustrated cover for print. This way you can complete your collection if you already have the face covers

💗 November 4th-6th, 2022, we'll be attending Shameless Book Con 2022 in Orlando, Florida

💗 June 23rd-24th, 2023, we'll be attending Book Bonanza in Grapevine, Texas. Tickets go on sale September 2nd!

HEY DOLLS! Oh man i feel like its been a hot minute since we chatted! This summer has been... awful law wise haha. I had probably the most amount of cases i ever had and developed extreme anxiety as a consequence. And to answer your initial question... I am always up for any extra bonus content... but at the single request it remains... a surprise! I love consented (lol) surprises and your ones are probably my favourite!!! I cant wait to collect and celebrate the hardbacks :) They are so dear! The playlists are always awesome you guys release for the books but I’d love to also see what songs you guys love for the couples (or one particular person) that you either discovered after the books were published and wishes you knew about or ones that you love for them but didn’t necessarily fit the theme of that particular book… it’s been some time since Addicted/Calloway Sisters and new songs have been released since that you guys now associate with a couple or ones you didn’t know at the time and came across later that may fit them perfectly and I’d love to see those… a soundtrack for the lives and loves of these people is always welcome!

I like seeing the text messages cuz it’s basically like a bonus scene. But I really like seeing fanart for books! It’s just fun to see peoples imaginations of the book characters.

I don’t have much space on my shelf to display prints — so being able to still have access to some tangible illustrations (when they’re included within novels) is really nice! 🤗

If you find the time to send one, we'll look out for it 😉🤓 I haven't started She-Hulk yet (Becca here!) -- Krista watched it without me 👿 (lol she always does that) and she didn't seem to love it, which is also why I haven't immediately started it yet. Have you been liking it? We've LOVED the start of the House of the Dragon! We have high hopes for the rest of the season. I think Krista has been reading a Tessa Bailey book, but I'm unsure which one it is. She seems to be enjoying it! I just finished The Bear on Hulu and absolutely adored that show. (I also got super giddy bc they used Italian-American slang like "stunad" and "scustamad" and the acting is superb!) Also, we both saw Black Phone and really loved the young brother-sister relationship 💗

For the ebooks, we don't believe there's a way to keep the original ones if the file in your e-reader gets updated. It'll automatically update to the illustrated covers once those replace the OG covers

Just in case anyone wants updates about the bonus scenes, BOTH are coming tomorrow (August 31st) EST. We're so sorry they're coming the last day of the month. The Special Bonus is chunky 😆 It's been taking us a lot of time to even edit and keep reading through, and then the Extra Bonus turned out much longer too. But we'll have them both to you all tomorrow. The perfectionists in us definitely wanted the Special Bonus to be the absolute best it could be for all of you, and it turned out to be everything we hoped and more. So we hope you all enjoy it! A question about Thatcher and Banks. Are we ever going to learn more about their military backstory? I was a little confused that Banks couldn't paddle board, considering he's a Marine and their specialty is amphibious warfare. It's part of their basic training, so I wondered if it was his back injury that made him so terrible at it in FLU. It makes no sense at all that he just didn't know how to do it. I'm also wondering if he has fibromyalgia. His symptoms all fit and it's quite a common stress response to trauma.

Where i grew up, we had aunts and uncles that were siblings of our parents. And aunts and uncles that were friends and coworkers of our parents. Aunts and uncles that were basically any cousins that were adults when we were born. No difference in any of the nomenclature. I assumed that's what was going on there.

It's possible but Colin is described as looking like Donnelly so it's more likely blood related but you could still be right 😄

You might learn more through bonuses about their military backstory, especially if we write any more that are in the past (or they decide to talk more about it) 💗 This is a really good point about Banks, and we always love your insights! Banks at 18-22 would've likely had little to no trouble paddle boarding and doing basic training. He probably excelled at that age at most everything physical, which was prior to a lot of his injuries/back problems. Banks at 28-30+ definitely feels more aches, pains, and is relatively more unstable where balancing is concerned.
