Welcome to the newest Fizz Hangout! Every Friday, you all can stop by the weekly Fizz Hangout post and ask questions (to us or to your fellow patrons), discuss recent bonus scenes and/or podcasts with each other, and catch up on all the goodies you might've missed!

HANGOUT QUESTION: we love seeing your response to questions about the Like Us series, and it helps facilitate some awesome discussions! Each week, there'll be a new "hangout question" that you can answer in the comments, if you wish!

Do you reread books or are you a one-and-done kind of reader? If you like to reread, have you reread any of our books? If so, which ones? For us, we usually don't have time to reread (we're slow readers 😢) BUT we do constantly reread our own books to keep all the details fresh! It’s always fun for us to reread them too!! 

Weekly Recap

Happy Friday, lovelies! We hope you all are having a fabulous Friday. March is winding down as we head into the last week. Which means you almost have all of the content. There's still a couple podcasts on the horizon and an extra special Kinney Hale Diaries dropping soon 💕

As far as what we're working on outside of Patreon, we're still busy writing/editing Unlucky Like Us. If you've listened to a podcast or TikTok where we explain our process, you know that we write and edit at the same time. But it's coming along really well!! We're very much obsessed with Luna and Donnelly and it'll be hard to say goodbye to them in Nobody Like Us. Which is why we're basking in this time we have with these characters.

In other news, the new print edition of Addicted for Now is out in the world! Thanks to everyone who pre-ordered or picked up a copy during release week❤️❤️ Your support means so much to us, and it truly helps in immeasurable ways. Now that these books are traditionally published, the publisher is super focused on numbers. And opportunities for the series (adaptions, translations, etc.) come down to these sales numbers. So we're just really grateful for all of you getting a copy, and we realize it might not even be your first or even second copy of Addicted for Now. And that really hits us in the heart. I saw in your latest newsletter that Kiss the Sky is due for release in paperback with bonus content. I have to say reading Rose and Connors first date was everything 😭 and the fact that I read that and then the next day Connor’s POV of the sip in snow came out made me emotional. To see them from first date to parenting their youngest child after she threw a party 🥺🥺

I read the addicted calloway series and the like us series for the first time in January and then re-read every single book in February lmao. Then this month I read circus is family and re-read skop and all four Marrow books. I have the audiobooks, and ebooks of all of them, and paperbacks for most of the like us series (just waiting on the special edition of mlu) I also have paperbacks for curcus is family, long way down, skop, and the 3 berkley books just published. Waiting on the rest of the series from berkley. So safe to say- I’ve re-read you books and you have me hooked lmao.

I am a constant rereader for books that i mega love!! (Especially if im in a reading slump and need a reset)💖 its such a nice feeling to dive back into something that made you feel so great the first time around! To me, its the same kind of thing as rewatching your comfort tv show! Ive reread all of the addicted series and like us series! I don’t always go in order once I’ve read through them all though, sometimes i need specific couple feels!! Like sometimes i wake up and i’m like hmm definitely today is a coballoway day, or a marrow day, or if i can’t decide skop it is 😂💖

I am constantly reading like it’s on a roaster every single night before bed my favs. And then usually during the day that’s when I gravitate towards something new! Either a comic or a new book! On another note Friday today is my birthday 🤭 I can’t believe I turn 25! Like I how did I get here?! I genuinely believe that the government owes us back from covid 2 legal years and a monthly subscription of retinol! Lol! So Simon & Schuster Australia has the rights to the Calloway Sisters books (Kiss the Sky, Hothouse Flower, Fuel the Fire, Long Way Down, and Some Kind of Perfect), and they’ve already been released with S&S Australia in Australia/NZ — so they won’t have bonus material. The bonus material is exclusive to Berkley, so you’ll only see them in Berkley editions. They won’t be updated for the Simon & Schuster Australia books sadly.

I’m a huge fan of rereading books! I’m also a slow reader but I usually read multiple books at once which is how I’m actually able to get through my unread books too. I’ve reread the like us series way too many times to count. I pretty much do a reread of the series before each new book release

Yes, but not everything. Only books with characters I really, really like. The Marrow books definitely quality (I’ve reread them twice). I’m rereading all the others in the Addicted/Like Us universe now. I like reading so much it’s often just easier to reread a book because they tend to be easier to put down when I’m very busy than it is to pick up a new one. I also read almost exclusively LGBTQ romance now. I think your books are the first ones I’ve re-read that are not exclusively LGBTQ in years. I’m a huge sucker for family romance books and books in a series.

Omg that’s amazing!!! 💖 We’d definitely love to write their novel, and it’s been on our minds — but a lot of stuff comes down to schedule and timing and when is the best place to fit it in. It would definitely be more of a passion project (though everything really is a passion project bc we’re passionate about everything 😂 but we would know that it might not be as successful as some of our other books).

definitely reread!!! when i read thru the addicted series the first time i got sad before i read SKOP so i went back to the beginning and reread addicted to you🫣 now im making all my friends read them and so ive been trying to read along with them which is fun, but i read a lot so i've also been doing the bad rep tandem read which is so fun 😍😍😍 Theres something so comforting about going back to a book that you're 100% certain you'll love. Do I have a TBR list that is miles long? yes. Will I continue to go back and reread the ones I love the most? also yes.

I keep meaning to press “enter” but it keeps posting on me today instead of creating spaces 🫠 so sorry for the many messages lol! I just saw a poster for the Ulitmate Girls Trip 3 and I couldn’t believe Gizelle and Candice are both on it!! Definitely am going to have to check it out. So I keep meaning to tell you that I finally watched Andor, and it’s literally the best STAR WARS property I’ve EVER watched. EVER!! it’s the best thing in the whole world. It made me tear up multiple times. I even went and rewatched Rogue One, and I decided to start the comics over in chronological order. Meaning, I’ve been super immersed in the Legends comics. They’re absolutely amazing. I’ve actually been enjoying them more than X-Men at the moment (but I finally finished Dawn of X line). For TV, Krista and I are also really loving School Spirit on Paramount+, the acting and script is superb! Gotham Knights on the CW has been pretty disappointing though. And then Yellowjackets just returned for season 2 and it’s already really good!

That's disappointing. Paperbacks are expensive in New Zealand and I wouldn't have purchased them otherwise and used the money to put towards saving up for the Berkley editions which I will have to purchase from overseas

i re-read all the time! it’s not uncommon for me to stop a new book in the middle of a paragraph because i’ve remembered a moment from a book i’ve already read and must go read the whole book again immediately. i’ve re-listened to misfits 2 times and i just finished a re-listen of damaged and plan to continue through the rest of the series. i only read them for the first time last year which explains why they haven’t already been re-read yet haha (except for lunelly, clearly they have my heart haha)

I don’t often re-read whole books (although I am doing so with the new released version of addicted as they come out and annotating them!), but in general I just re-read excerpts that have really connected with me! Your books are the ones I re-read excerpts from the most. Ricochet (my favorite book of yours) I re-read the most often, usually during tough times. Not only do I find a lot of strength through Lily’s story (especially the bathtub scene), but being a frequent reader of yours, just re-reading your writing brings me sense of comfort and familiarity that is healing in a way. It’s definitely been of use to me during a bit of a rocky week this week (along with all the core six bonus scenes) so truly thank you so much for all that you do 🥰

I read Damaged and when I realized there was an series before the like us series, I read them. Then I reread the entire like us series. Rinse and repeat. Over and over I go. I’ve read Maximoff and Farrow the most. Every road trip, I pop them in for company. Badass to have them as my travel mates. I do this with Connor and Rose too.

I’m normally not a rereader, but I’ve read all of the Like Us books more than once. Wild Like Us was my comfort read forever. Then I reread all of the Like Us series to highlight all of Luna’s scenes in green and all of Donnelly’s scenes in purple. 💚💜 my favs! ✨ I’ve also read Misfits quite a few times and it is now my new favorite comfort read. I wasn’t feeling well a few weeks ago, and it was one of the only things that made me feel better. I never got to thank you for that in the moment. So, I’m taking the time to do so now. I love rereading, it's easy not having to think about what I want to read next and also knowing for sure I'll enjoy the book. I've reread the addicted/calloway series and a ton of books from the like us series, as well. My fav book from the like us series to reread is Charming Like Us, Oscar and Jack's story is so fun and light, I absolutely adore them and can always count on them to brighten my day.

X-Men X-Men... sigh. I have asked this before but I feel like it got lost in the Speed Force (pun intended hehe) of the internet! Would LiLo/ and or, the greater Hale family read x-men comics as they come out weekly? or would they wait for the trade paperbacks to be debuted? Or wait for the hardcovers :O What do you make of their current takes on Krakoa would be? (petition for a Bonus Chapter of a family dinner where they have a hot debate over Krakoa takes! )

I have mentioned before that I have reread your books ☺️ Typically it depends on the book. If a book takes me too long to read (by this I mean like over a week) then it’s probably not as interesting as I thought it might be. So in those cases it most likely ends up being a one and done kinda thing but if the book is a god damn masterpiece and I snort that shit like cocaine in less than 3 days then you can expect many re reads of said book/series if only to experience the whole thing again. For the addicted universe. I read all 22 books (addicted/likes us/ bas rep) in 6 weeks. 🙂 and immediately after finishing infamous (misfits wasn’t out yet) I downloaded all the audio books and restarted from the very beginning. And I also started purchasing the physical books. And now with the new release of the addicted series I’m basically rereading the whole thing yet AGAIN but with the physical books so i can tab and annotate them ☺️ I feel like I mention this every time I post something here but you guys are my No.1 favorite authors and I really hope one day I can plan a trip to one of your book events so I can actually meet you guys. Your books to me are like my entire life. They came to me at a really tough time in my life and they literally gave me an excuse to just disconnect and enjoy at least some semblance of peace while I was immersed in your characters. So if I haven’t yet in this post I do want to thank you so much for just being you and creating such and incredible world. Keep doing what you guys are doing cuz it’s amazing. 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

I reread books quite a bit. I only like to reread physical copies of books though because I don’t like how Kindle doesn’t count rereads of books. I am rereading all of your books now actually with my sister as she does a first read. This will be my third time. My goal is to be done for ULU so the pushback was a good thing 😂 Also, I wanted to ask this for the mom podcast but I was 2 minutes too late! I am currently in my Taylor Swift concert era. I see lots of moms and daughters going together so, is there an event like that where the moms would go with just the girls? Would the core eight moms and their daughters all go to a concert like that together?

The way i WANT to re-read the whole Addicted/Calloway series but I truly can't take the pain. Not sure if I can handle saying goodbye to the characters again. I’m a mood reader and when I do go back into a comfort book it will usually depend on what I’m looking to get out of it. I usually do reread books, and have done all my life when a book resonates deeply. I have reread all of Maximoff and Farrow's books & Oscar and Jack's book many, many times (they are my fave couples). And have reread SKOP and Jane and Thatcher's books once each. I have also searched out certain scenes (the dollhouse scene, Jane & Beckett ballet class scene and the tree house scene in specific - I adore all three so freaking much!) multiple times when I need a "happy place" fix. My go-to reread bonuses are Connor, Farrow and Maximoff centric. 💗

I’ve re read all the books multiple times, however I don’t think I could re read the first three books again, despite the fact that they’re probably my favourites. I’ve reread them once and they seriously took a piece of me with them. It was really emotionally challenging to go over again, especially seeing Lily and Lo at that point after I’d been with them through all the progress they had made. I think as well with the first two books being pre-fame I read them with this impending sense of doom that the struggles they go through now are just the tip of the iceberg. My favourites to re read would have to be the Like Us series- each time I reread I make new guesses about what is to come, and get new opinions/impressions of characters, which I love. Currently rereading the Like Us Series (again) ready for Unlucky Like Us!! xxx

I do reread especially if I love a book! I have reread the Addicted/Calloway series in its entirety except Long Way Down & Some Kind of Perfect which I have only read once. I also reread Jane and Thatcher's 2 books Tangled and Sinful Like Us. PS. Would absolutely LOVE and extra bonus scene of their actual wedding!! Please ❤️

For the Addicted series and Calloway sisters series I reread them entirely, more often than the Like us series. For the like us series other than Damaged like us and Headstrong like us the other books in the series I only reread certain passages but not the whole book

I’m currently re reading addicted after all and then I’ll re read some kind of perfect. I alternate between each book depending on what I’m in the mood for. I’ve re read damaged like us not too long ago as well. I can’t stop returning to read the books in all the series no matter what other book I’m reading or I’ve read outside of the addicted/Calloway and the like us universe.

Oh we're so sorry, Caroline. We know international readers usually pay a lot more, so we definitely feel for you all. When Simon & Schuster Australia picked up the Calloway Sisters series, Berkley hadn't made the deal for those books yet, and we were told it was a long shot, so we had no clue any of this would even happen. We really thought the S&S Australia editions would be some of the main/only trad published editions of those books (bc we weren't sure anyone else would want them 💗)

Sulli would definitely find herself awake at 4 a.m. some days! Ryke and Daisy as well wouldn't have too much trouble getting up either, since they've had odd sleep schedules before. Could definitely see Connor getting into modes where he's taking advantage of all the time and trying to sleep less, as well. I mostly try to keep the same schedule on the weekends, but I might sleep a couple hours later. I usually don't stay up past 11 p.m. ever anymore. It's super hard!

Your birthday sounded so awesome! And YES to the comic book outing! I hope you were able to go! I'll have to email you the new Star Wars reading list starting with Legends. I 100% recommend it. It's been really, really amazing, but it's super long so an email will be easier. Both Lily & Lo would likely read them as they come out weekly. They wouldn't be able to wait for trade paperbacks (but they'd likely buy those too when they come out). BUT in their older years, if they're both super busy with life, work, kids, etc., then they might fall behind and end up just reading the trade paperbacks if they're already out. I think they both would really enjoy the Krakoa era. It's a better era than others in the past, but I think both would be extremely unhappy with the absence of Hellion and also X-23's arc. So that would be a bummer for them, for sure. I *think* Luna would probably really enjoy the Krakoa era the most. It has the most sci-fi-esque feels to it. I'd have to talk to Krista more about this though to be sure! There definitely needs to be more comic book hot takes from the Hales! Adding those tidbits in bonus scenes is so much fun 💗

The Paris locals would probably do Paris better justice than us, as our experiences in Paris have been the main stops. We do LOVE the Moulin Rogue, though. That's always been one of our favorite things we've done in Paris. And if you like history and want to venture a bit outside the main city, we suggest visiting the Basilica Cathedral of Saint Denis. It's where a lot of kings/queens were buried.

For the most part, we were Team Brooke & Peyton's friendship! We hated when there was friction in their friendship, and sometimes Lucas could be a butt lol. But we do love Lucas (we love Nate more though). We have watched ALL of the original Charmed! Our older cousin got us into it, and we were obsessed. We loved Piper and Leo. One of our fav seasons is the twist with their son, and we were really hoping Charmed would do a spin-off series with all of the sisters' kids. What's your fav couple?

They'd read single-issue comics in print form, but also, digital. We all know Lo doesn't like his comics creased lol, so he might even just read the print ones one time and then reread digitally. I can totally see Lily loving digital comics more than Lo, who is a bit more of a comic snob 😂 I've been reading Star Wars on the app! I'm a sucker for digital comics. I love reading panel by panel (the smart panel function) bc my eyes tend to stray when I see the whole page, so it always makes me surprised on what's going to happen. BUT I'm probably going to get my favorite issues in print! Rereading in print is always fun too.

The last signing in Orlando, we really struggled to be able to do the character notes and sign books efficiently. Our line was pretty long, so we're not sure if we'll be able to continue doing them at signings. The only ones that *might* work would be Luna & Donnelly's notes since I do those, and while Krista personalizes books, I usually have some extra time to sign ☺️

We use Microsoft Word for writing. Though we know a lot of authors do love Scrivener. We've just never gotten into it, but it seems pretty cool! For all our outlines & consistency notes, we use OneNote.
