Happy Friday, lovelies! It is the very last Friday of the month which means all the content is here on Patreon for March and all the new content for April is right around the corner! Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes on the Kinney Hale Diaries post. We had a fabulous b-day, and now we're just soaking in our early thirties. It's hard to believe that ten years ago, we were in college writing Addicted to You. This June will mark the 10th anniversary of the book, and when we say we're going to be emotional...let's just say we're going to need LOTS of tissues.

Outside of Patreon, we're still writing/editing Unlucky Like Us and working some bonus material for the new print editions of the Addicted Series. This year has been a whirlwind and we're only 3 months down! Hopefully next month (April) we'll start to tease ULU with teasers and quotes and things 👽💜💚

I read through my ears so if I can't find a new audiobook that holds my interest, then I'll go and do a re-listen of one of old fav - like a palette cleanser - and usually that can reset things and I can then start something new

Happy Friday!! My book slumps usually come after reading a book so good that I just don’t have the attention for any other book. So sometimes I’ll re-read some of my other all-time favorites. Otherwise, I’ll just read based on my mood, even if that means starting several books within the span of the week lol. A few days away reading also does the trick sometimes too. Every book slump for me is different but that’s what I do! Do you guys do anything special for book slumps??

So excited for the Unlucky teasers!! And so glad you girls had a fun birthday 🥳 I do go through reading slumps and the only way I know how to get out of them is rereading one of my favorite books. Speaking of rereads all these core 6 POVs have me itching to reread the addicted series 🥺 I think I’m gonna start that this weekend. It’s been like 3 years since I’ve don’t a full reread (since then I’ve only reread my favorites) so I think it’s time 🥰

I usually head off for one of my comfort reads, which is usually part of a series then I end up rereading the entire series because then I need to revisit all of my favorite characters. it's a vicious cycle.

Hey besties! Ah to get over a reading stump I tend to never be in one frankly.. I tend to re-read before bed all the time novels that I love (KBR universe, Brandon Sanderson, Outlander etc.) Really I am going through a wee bit of a comic book slump rn with the X-Men lines. Idk... I could cry haha I always wonder what you guys would think or what the Hales about certain decisions, or directions, or the writing style of certain lines.. idk :))

This might sound crazy but one time I went through a bad slump and ice planet barbarians brought me out of it 🫣 but most of the time I’ll read a fantasy romance like a court of mist and fury or a stand alone rom-com. Also, super excited about getting teasers for Unlucky like us!!! Can’t wait!

I'm currently in a slump right now and it really sucks, but I try to be patient with myself. Slumps are temporary, so I go back to my favorites and I wait it out until I feel myself getting curious about new books! Btw, I'm so glad you both had the FABULOUS bday you deserved!!! Currently in a slump now, after finishing redeeming 6 by Chloe Walsh, so I’ve been rereading the like us series (obviously) my fav characters and books help me out of a slump. Hope you both had an amazing birthday 🫶and ULU teasers next month 👀 VERY exciteddddd

Omg im so excited for ULU teasers!!! im so glad yall had a great birthday and I cant wait until the misfits special edition comes out I think about it at least 10 times a day 😭 and to answer the question when im in slumps I do one of two things either I push through it because the only way out is through or I find something that is completely unique and ive never read anything like it/ explore new romance sub genres and I also try not to be too hard on myself but I still get really frustrated AHH

i think i’m actually heading towards a slump right now, but i’ve been trying to convince myself i’m not 💀 i’ve been reading the same book for almost two weeks now and that is sooo long for me. i am enjoying the book, but it’s just different from my usual genres and style so i’m moving slower. i’m definitely gonna have to reread one of my fav books as soon as i’m done so i can kick this in a butt 🥊 and what do you know, my signed copy of misfits came in the mail a week ago and it’s just ITCHING to be annotated 🤍💚 how do y’all get out of slumps?

I'm currently in a book slump right now. I unfortunately get into book slumps pretty frequently. I find it to be really frustrating because I have so many books I want to read or listen to, but not a whole lot is drawing my interest right now - which is often the case when I'm in a book slump. I have figured out that once a book does draw my attention, to read or listen to it as soon as possible, because my attention span isn't always very good (which this causes other problems, like not being able to put it down when I have other things I need to do). I believe a good night's rest sometimes helps as well, but it doesn't always work.

Well since I’m waiting for unlucky to come out I was like might as well read some of your other books so I read the circus is family series. Let’s just say I didn’t expect to love that series as much as I did. 😭 I love Timo sm and I think in the future he deserves his book. But as much as I loved Timo, Luka was the one with my whole heart. His backstory was actually so sad, I couldn’t. And I also loved how you guys wrote a male character with an eating disorder, I feel as a society men are looked down upon when they have one because they’re meant to look ‘strong’ I guess, but women it’s expected and they r supported through it. It also terrifies me just a bit because I remember on a fizzles award podcast a question was asked about who had the most heartbreaking backstory and it was Donnelly number 1 and follow up was Luka. That being said Luka’s backstory was literally one of the saddest I’ve read, and anyone who knows me irl know my love for Donnelly is off the charts. So I will be preparing myself for unlucky and nobody like us. Also don’t be mad if you get mailed a bill for my therapy (you brought that on yourselves) anyway I totally went on a random rant there and didn’t get to my main point but after I read that series I was in a slump, and I still can’t seem to get out of it, but hey, I don’t regret a thing.

I usually switch hobbies when i get tired or slumped from one of them. Like rn I’m in a small book slump so I’ve been binging a tv series and now that i have one season left I think I might go back to books when i’m done. Usually if I purposely want go get out of a reading slump i tend to read one of my Two favorite series either Vampire Academy or the Addicted series. 😁

I had a couple questions, the first one I've been meaning to ask but keep forgetting, it was said I think in a podcast that when you do the cobalt series Charlie wouldn't be the first in the series. I just wanted to know when that was said if anyone knows 2. I also wanted to know if you ladies saw the tv show 12 monkeys it's sci-fi? Iam sure one of the Hales would love it😄

Usually if we're feeling a book slump, we'll end up writing to satiate our "reading" craving 💕 The worst is when we're feeling burnt-out writing and also in a book slump lol, then we have to look to other things like TV/movies/comics for inspo to get us back in the writing/reading mood!

To get out of book slumps, we usually turn to writing 💕 But if we're burnt out of writing at the same time, it's a little bit harder, and we'll usually turn to comics/TV/movies to reinvigorate the writing/reading itch!

We've seen the movie 12 Monkeys and started the TV show, but I don't believe we ever finished the show. I'd have to ask Krista to see if she ended up completing it, but I think I only saw about 3 episodes. I remember it being really good though! ~ B

When in a book slump I try to spend more time outside, and the sun will recharge me. Also an old favourite like Hatchet by Gary Paulson or Grimspace or a dollar book I've never heard of from a used book store in either a Cafe or a waiting room for a few hours can work (my doctor was always running at least 90 minutes behind)

New member here! Just wanted to say how much I am enjoying this entire page,I spent the last few days making sure I'm all caught up on every bonusscene. My absolute favorite was the one with Rose and Connor disciplining their kids for cheating. The cobalt empire will forever have a very special place in my heart. Whenever I find myself in a slump, I immediately reread a book I know and love. I change my scenery to be outside and somehow it always seems to work.
