Welcome to the newest Fizz Hangout! Every Friday, you all can stop by the weekly Fizz Hangout post and ask questions (to us or to your fellow patrons), discuss recent bonus scenes and/or podcasts with each other, and catch up on all the goodies you might've missed!

HANGOUT QUESTION: we love seeing your response to questions about the Like Us series, and it helps facilitate some awesome discussions! Each week, there'll be a new "hangout question" that you can answer in the comments, if you wish!

You are tasked with pet sitting for the Like Us series characters for an entire week. Which pet group are you choosing? Choices include: The Hale's Newfoundlands (Arkham, Orion, Erebor, and Salem), Jane's Cats (Ophelia, Lady Macbeth, Toodles, Walrus, Carpenter, Licorice, and LJ) , Luna's fish (MoonDragon), or Ben's bird (Pip Squeak)

Happy Friday, lovelies! We are coming to you from the past in our little time machine. We're composing this hangout on a Wednesday instead of the usual Friday, since we are currently traveling today for our cousin's wedding. Romance is in the air 💗💍🎊 Weddings are also a good time for us to stock up the creative well, since there's a certain cat lover's wedding we will be writing for People Like Us that we know lots of you have been anticipating. It's a big one on our list!

I would definitely pet-sit Ben’s bird! My mom and I pet-sit the class pets in 6th grade for a weekend, which were two zebra finches, and both of us really enjoyed that experience even though we had never done it before! 🥰

Jane's cats hands down. I am a major cat person. I aspire to be the old lady with all the cats. I have also been the go-to cat-sitter for all my friend's cats for years. I have fond memories of drinking limoncello and watching one of the Royal weddings at 3AM while cat-sitting.

Hi Girlies! I would def try and see if I can babysit Ben's bird and see if I can learn any inside Cobalt secrets :P. Or better yet see how he's trained! I couldn't wait hehe. How have you guys been the month of April? :D Did you guys have a lovely birthday :D I am coming to you guys from CasCais in Portugal where im vacationing here till the end of the month! As I do, I have actually picked up Superman comics! And honestly, the Superman comics are some of the most profound reads I've ever had the pleasure of reading. I think that maybe it took me more time than others to figure him out, and not just be vapidly saying "Superman is just good ergo boring" I didn't appreciate him when i was younger because i don't think i was mature enough. You think that the ones that are emotionally complicated are those that wear it, i.e. Spider-Man, Daredevil, Cyclops. But really it's those that don't wear their emotions on their sleeves and confine their emotional side to those select few. That's more admirable to me. He still follows the classic DC prototype of- heroes having three identities: superhero, unassuming civilian, actual identity. Their actual identity is the version of themself that can just casually talk about being a hero while still acting and feeling and just BEING a normal person. It’s the version of themself most closely guarded and most rewarding to get to see. The part reserved for their closest friends and family 🥹For Clark, he has the fumbling office worker isn’t really the real Clark either. (It’s also really played up in older stories and adaptations; in most recent comics he just pushes the meek and weak angle but is still considered competent and likable to most people). The real Clark is who he is in Smallville, just the small town guy who grew up on a farm and he considers that his truest form bcs Superman is in every way a “perfect hero” but Clark doesn’t see himself in that way at all. He sees himself as that farmer’s son who likes to write to tell the stories of the overlooked and just wants to go home to his wife and kids each night 💙 And tbh again, I dscounted heavily Clark and Lois's relationship as like kinda boring but I think it's the most profund and beautiful love story in the comic book medium, that touches all tropes? For Superman and Lois I’d say that their special connection is his farm boy ideals versus Lois’s city girl attitude! Clark is so humble, quiet, patient, and demure (kind of that plantation, work the land, Good man trope that those paramount shows titulate that you guys talk about and love!) while Lois is proud, outspoken, suspicious, cynical, witty, clever, insulting, courages, compassionate (hilariously) impatient, and in-your-face modern woman. Their dynamic reminds me a lot of Jaime and Claire from Outlander. They’re exact opposites but they also inspire each other to learn and grow and are always there for each other. Bcs of Lois, Clark gained a spine and learned to stand up for himself rather than just stand up for others, meanwhile Lois learned that it really isn’t a dog-eat-dog world bcs of people like Clark. Lois stands up for Clark when he can’t stand up for himself and she found someone who will stand up for her so that she doesn’t *always* have to be the toughest person in the room. And more than anything Lois protects Clark from himself and his own self doubt. They’re perfect for each other. Wonder Woman (Clark's love interest during the new 52 era... nobody liked that ship apart from some BAD PEOPLE WITH BAD TASTES AHAH yikes) may be able to do some of the things for Clark that Lois does but I feel like being raised in a warrior society would make her more prone to not necessarily critiquing Clark but not seeing the problem with him critiquing himself to what could be a detrimental level, something that free-spirited and stubbornly loving Lois would never let happen to her farm boy haha. So yeah <3 I have superman on my mind as of late :) So have been reading a lot of Rebirth Superman :)) And Also re-watching Super Sons all the tome because that silly movie is so much fun :D What have u guys been reading and consuming? :D Still Star Wars?

So the teaser this month won't be a part of Teaser Tuesday just yet 💗 We're hoping to announce the release date pretty soon! We're working on finishing the "face" cover for ULU at the moment, too 🎉

We're still editing Unlucky Like Us, so we won't post the first chapter until the book is 100% complete, and we're a little more selective on which parts to pull for teasers while we're editing. Portugal!! That’s so awesome! We hope you have an amazing vacay 💖 Our birthday was super relaxing. April has been going by way too fast. We’ve been so busy this year; we can hardly believe we’re four months into 2023 already. 

 I’ve been wanting to get into Superman comics after being obsessed with Superman & Lois on the CW. I love Daddy Superman lol, and I truly feel like I understand Clark so much better bc of the performance in the show. Tyler H. is my fav Superman. Yes, that’s totally why I love Lois and Clark, their dichotomy of city girl attitude vs. humble farm boy attitude. I’ve never understood them in the movie versions, but I totally get their relationship in the show and it just *makes* sense. Also my SO loves Superman the *most* of all superheroes, and I got him to watch Superman & Lois, and he instantly said that it was the most comic-true Superman he’s seen. I nearly teared up! 

I literally can’t picture Wonder Woman with Superman. That feels weird! I’ll likely try to get into The Flash comics before Superman comics bc of your rave reviews! 

 We’ve been reading a bit less outside of our stuff since we’re in full writing mode and just rereading Addicted series/Like Us series things. I’m still reading Star Wars comics (I’ll email you the reading list soon! And whoever else wants it, let me know in the comments and I can email too), and we both just finished School Spirits on Paramount+ (highly recommend!) and started the new season of Yellowjackets. xoxo Becca

THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUU for the Star Wars Legends reading order :D Do you recommend starting to get into the glitz and starriness of Star Wars comics via legends or the Jason Aaron/Darth Vader/Doctor Vader portion of the comics? :O And eek Superman and Lois is so great! So emotional too hehe. I TOTALLY AGREE with u on the show being the most accurate depiction of Superman. I would say the only difference is that the comics tend to also showcase Lois and Clark being a ‘couple’ and not just Mom and Dad. And that they only have one son, Jon :)) as seen here: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DBwXbPSXgAAnY_4.jpg 🤭 Flash comics are THE BEST I can’t wait for you to tell me what you think of them! I would do anything to read the rebirth run for the first time again :’). It’s such a humble run but it’s juxtaposed with such brilliant and dynamic artwork and such great slow burn arcs it’s so gratifying to see them all run! And the flash war is literally one of my FAV solo superhero arc of all time! The build up was insane! I can’t really think of any hale who would take a liking to the flash comics cuz I think they already have very full and fleshed out personalities, but like I said Barry reminds me deeply if Ben in the best way :’)
