Welcome to the newest Fizz Hangout! Every Friday, you all can stop by the weekly Fizz Hangout post and ask questions (to us or to your fellow patrons), discuss recent bonus scenes and/or podcasts with each other, and catch up on all the goodies you might've missed!

Happy Friday, magical & super heroic beauties! Full disclaimer: this post was written on Wednesday before we left for Texas. On Friday (technically today), we are at Book Bonanza (hopefully seeing some of you there!!), and so when this drops we're going to be full swing in Book Bonanza things.

We are super pumped! Seeing as how this is our first ever Book Bonanza, we don't know what to expect. But that's the beauty of it. We'll never get another "first time" so we'll be soaking it up.

This week for us has been focused on getting a lot of stuff done before heading out to Texas. We're knee deep in deadlines, so we're just trucking along as best we can. But we're so excited about the Teaser Tuesdays here on Patreon. It's a little glimpse into Unlucky Like Us, and we feel like this book has been in our possession for SO LONG. We're just so ready to send our book baby off into the big wide world. But of course, we're compulsive editors, so we tend to tweak things until the last minute. So we'll be doing reread after reread until the "turn in" date.

As far as Patreon content, all the bonuses and podcasts are going to be dropping next week. We're so sorry the content is being bunched up at the end of the month. This has been a really difficult month for us in terms of deadlines, so we're just trying to juggle everything as best we can. Thank you so much for your patience!!

Book Bonanza is on the top of my list!! I wasn’t able to get tickets this year and I’m a little heart broken about it 😢💔 I would love to meet you two and gush about my favorite books with everyone else!! I did go to Summer Sizzle in Dayton, Ohio though! It was my first author event/signing and it was seriously AMAZING 💕📚✍🏼 now I’m hooked😅 Everybody was so cool I really felt like I found my people lolol. I used to go to these all the time. Unfortunately, most of the events I went to are no longer around, though. There used to be a lot around the Pacific Northwest because a bunch of authors are based there. For instance, there was a regency-era event that Julia Quinn, Eloisa James, Lisa Kleypas, and Sabrina Jeffries used to go to every year that was awesome, and never too crowded (this was like a decade pre-Bridgerton on Netflix). Then there used to be one called Pacific Northwest Pride or something like that with a large number of indie writers of queer romance. But now that I live in the Northeast, there don’t seem to be any that are romance focused - even though I feel like this area is one of the most popular romance settings! I mean, like 90% of Hallmark movies are filmed around here. And Philly is the city of love! If one ever materializes near me again, I am there!

I’ve been to one book event! Leigh Bardugo had one in the state I live in and the entire thing was a blur because I was so damn excited lol I can’t even imagine having so many authors I love that close I would freak 😂 I hope you guys have a great time!! This is wildly off topic lol but I was thinking about how excited I am for Unlucky especially bc Krista and Becca mentioned that Farrow is the most prevalent character in the book (other than Luna and Donnelly obvs) and I'm just soooooo fucking excited about that bc Farrow and Donnelly's friendship makes me unbelievably emotional lmao and thinking about Farrow and Donnelly's relationship always brings me back to Damaged and Lovers where Farrow consistently downplays his relationship with Donnelly and makes it sound like they're just co-workers but then you have Donnelly who's like "if you die I die" to Farrow and that dichotomy alwayssss sends me especially since deep down Farrow's like "...same 😒🙄🥹" lolol

Hello and happiest June! ☀️🕶️🍧 I have been deeply afk from our lovely community and I apologise for that, but SUCH exciting developments have been happening like the Tuesday teases as well as the you guys going to a new book event in Texas! Damn that must be fun! The only book event was the one I went to on a red eye to see you guys for the day, which was the highlight FOR SURE of my 2022! However, a highlight for my 2023 (and the reason for my absence) was I sat my bar exam here in the UK these past three weeks! I was in a desperate cave and hobbit hole and have only finally this week come out of the woodworks! Monday was my debt finance exam and it was five hours and I looked like a coughed up greasy hair ball taking exams in the dead of heat next to a chic Charlie cobalt equivalent in a crisp shirt who probs didn’t break a sweat or get a hand cramp (fml 🤣🤣🤣🫶). Anyway 🤗 I too am travelling now, but for the month of in Tuscany visiting my family 🫶And will be there when Lunalley lands 🍀 What have you guys been up to aside from the travels? 🫶 I can’t get over how GORGEOUS Becca you looked! The photography gave me such dark academia vibes as well 🫰🤩 so it was utterly fitting to think of Jane Eyre xx

Loved the catch up 🫶 what did you think of the teaser? What are you most exited for in unlucky? I was expecting the teaser to be WAYY shorter so it was a pleasant surprise ;) Little catch up on my life is I visited my friends church, because I hadn’t seen her in ages and then somehow ended up staying for this retreat they had and it was a BALL! We stayed up and played a bunch of games, snuck out and had some “deep” conversations 😂🫶 for sure not as cool as sitting the bar 🫠😂.

All seasons of Big Brother are streaming on Paramount+. I started watching it a few years ago after Krista and Becca talked about it on a podcast and they recommended starting at season 6. I started there and watched all the seasons and then also went back to watch a couple of the earlier seasons before 6 and now have been watching the current seasons as they come out each summer. I think season 6 was a good place to start and then you can always go back to watch 2-5 if you want (season 1 was basically a different show bc it had a totally different format so I would skip season 1). The first AllStar season (Season 7) is one of my absolute favorite seasons so I highly recommend it. The second AllStar season (season 22) was actually during Covid so that did effect who they could get to come back and was basically the reason they did an AllStar season that year. I personally am not a fan of that season (I didn’t watch it all and mostly just watched clips because it annoyed me🤣) but it may still be worth watching if you’re watching all the seasons in order.

Thank you, Julia, for the breakdown! So happy to know that Season 6 was a good entry point. I think it definitely makes Season 7 100x better having watched S6, and it's such a fantastic season. Season 10 is one of my favorites, and around this season, they're all pretty decently good too. I agree with Julia that All-Star Season 22 is not good at all, but Season 20 is awesome and the most recent season (24) is really entertaining and has a great cast. But the earlier seasons are a much better place to start imo. We only watch BB US, but we listen to podcasts where they talk about BB Canada, and it seems like BB Canada has been consistently much better than the US version. I would totally skip the celebrity big brothers from the US, since they're not really the same (I've never been able to finish a season of Celebrity Big Brother, admittedly). But Big Brother UK is generally mostly celebrities and those are hilarious, but I think the format is kinda different. Like Julia said they're all on Paramount+. So is Survivor as well! But I'm not sure you get Paramount+ where you are?

We didn't offer character notes in the pre-orders, but we were able to do some character notes for Misfits Like Us at the table (mostly on Day 1). Towards the end of the signing, we couldn't do anymore since we were running out of time. I'll have to talk to Krista about Unlucky possibly being added to the pre-order form for Love N Vegas (I'm not totally sure about this!) but if you're unable to get character notes for Misfits Like Us on our website, there *might* be a chance I can sign those notes at the table (I'm the one who does Lunnelly notes). There will likely only be 1 (at most 2) chances left to get character notes for Misfits on our website since we usually only do them for new releases, and Unlucky Like Us is about to come out 💗

Hi Sioned! OMG I am BEYOND excited for Unlucky! I am so titulated about the big "plot thing" KBR have been teasing that they wanted to write out since ever! Like they have been talking about it in the podcasts for quite so time now so i have a feelingggggg Unlucky will be def giving Alpha like Us vibes in terms of spice and excitment!!! I'm so here for the bit moments but also really, just hanging out in the quiet between Lunalley. I feel because, it was a very getaway car, cant' bee seen, slow burn romance between them, we didn't get many intimate moments between the two (rightfully so because they couldn't hang out together) until about 80% into Misfits! And I just also cannot wait to see more Farrow and Donnelly friendship moments too. Their friendship is something truly special and unlike any other in the entire KBR universe.

I tried playing the Arkham horror board game at a catch up with one of my old law school friends a couple weeks back, and MAN was it so intense?!! like i def was not smart enough to be playing that game. i think we spent 80% of the time looking at the instructions and SHE said she has been studying the rules of the game for 3 days leading up to it!
