Welcome to the newest Fizz Hangout! Every Friday, you all can stop by the weekly Fizz Hangout post and ask questions (to us or to your fellow patrons), discuss recent bonus scenes and/or podcasts with each other, and catch up on all the goodies you might've missed!

HANGOUT QUESTION: we love seeing your response to questions about the Like Us series, and it helps facilitate some awesome discussions! Each week, there'll be a new "hangout question" that you can answer in the comments, if you wish!

If you love a book, do you reread it? And if you do reread it, do you do a second reread right after finishing the first read through or do you give some time/space between your first and second readings?

Weekly Recap

Happy Friday, magical & heroic beauties! We're back in our writing caves working on the usual things: patreon bonuses, podcast prep, bonus content for the Addicted print editions, and Nobody Like Us. So not much has changed this past week. We're grinding along through August and we're also super thankful that we have jobs that don't require outdoor work. It has been hellishly hot here in Georgia this week. We're in the "Hell's Front Porch" season over here. If you didn't know, Georgia has 12 seasons...

Can't wait until false fall arrives to be quite honest! We're ready to get out of this heat. September is soon approaching, which means Addicted After All will be out in bookstores, and we're so excited about this one! The bonus content in the back is some of our fav so far 🥰

In Patreon world, we had the big podcast drop this week, so in case you missed it, here's what went down:

- Extra Podcast: Extra Podcast: All About Unlucky Like Us - Part One

- Extra Podcast: Extra Podcast: All About Unlucky Like Us - Part Two

cass (ben’s version)

yess! i’ve read all of addicted/calloway 2 times. and bad rep 3 times. i love them soooo much

Andrea

It’s hot as hell, everyday it’s like 95 degrees I can’t wait for October 😭 I actually love rereading books. If I read a book and love it I’ll probably reread it a second time right away.

Rachel Parsons

I will reread it a couple of times and then I try to move on to something different, but then I usually go back to my favorite book a few times lol 😆 I will say that I read books first on my kindle and if I love it then I have to buy the paperback asap. There’s only a handful of authors that I will automatically buy paperbacks for and y’all are a couple of them 😌♥️

Lauren Zaremba

Absolutely a rereader!! Everything from full start to finish to popping into my favorite scenes or books randomly when I need to either distract or entertain myself (addicted and like us included in that!!!).

Sara

I'm not normally a big rereader, but the minute I finished SKOP for the first time, I immediately picked Addicted to You up and started the series again -- after 10 books I still wasn't ready to leave the Core Six's world. I've since reread the Addicted Series a third time, about a year after I first read it. I have a few other favorites/comfort reads that I'll reread when I'm in a slump or when nothing else is grabbing my attention.

Elle

I love rereading books bc I catch things that I didn’t during the first time around. Currently restarting the Like Us series and it’s been an emotional roller coaster 🥹

Stephanie

If I want the quote you put above your signature in books (not character notes) do I have to request Signature Only or does it have to be the Personalised option? ❤️

sofia

*****spoilers for ulu***** this is a random question and i have to ask bc it’s been bothering me 😂 but on the all about ulu podcast you guys mentioned that farrow had shaved his head which surprised bc i guess i didn’t catch that in the book! 🫣 i was wondering does he have like a buzz cut sorta style now?

gabriella 📖☁️🧸

absolutely love to reread!! i usually reread with time in between (some books i read again at the same time every year) so that when i start it for a re-read, some of it feels new because sometimes i forget little details!

Keatia Savage

I reread books often. I typically wait a while before reading a book again. I’ll pick it up again usually if I find myself thinking about it a lot or if I’m craving a very specific vibe that a book has. But sometimes a book is just too good and I have to reread it immediately after I finish it

Arrow

I reread books all the time & especially when I’m having a hard time locating a new series. I tend to like romance series a lot because I like seeing characters develop over time. I think I’ve read the Marrow books at least 5 times, the Lunnelly and Highveira books 3 times, and everything else in the addicted/Calloway/like us series twice. I also like re-reading parts of books (I can’t count how many times I’ve re-read specific scenes). Some other books I’ve reread: a bunch of Megan Derr’s series, Jordan Hawk’s Widdershin’s series (this is one of my all time favorite indie series), you & me by Tal Bauer (I think this is the only solo I’ve reread a bunch), Lisa Kleypas’s Wallflower and Hathaway series, and Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton series I’ve also read so many romance novels that I’ll forget a plot & decide to do a reread. Right now I’m working my way through Sara J Maas’s ACOTAR series. Not sure if this will be a re-read for me yet. Sorry - this was a much longer post than I thought it would be. I guess I’m a serial re-reader.

Krista & Becca Ritchie

Awww our hearts!! We're honored!!! 🥰 Funny enough, I feel like I do the same thing and typically read first on ebook and if I do a reread, I'll change the format so it feels different! ~ B

Krista & Becca Ritchie

Good question! It'd have to be a personalized copy. We do the sayings like "It's the little things" for Damaged Like Us and "this is pretend" for Addicted to You in personalized copies only. Signatures Only you'll ONLY get our signatures and nothing else.

Stephanie

I need to stalk personalised! Thank you! 😂❤️❤️❤️

Krista & Becca Ritchie

I imagine at the moment he was "starting anew" with his hair he likely cut it VERY short (probably close to a buzz cut but not quite that short, as he could've cut off all the fried/dyed ends and left the natural regrowth). Donnelly describes it as just being cut short to the point where he can see Farrow's natural hair color. I would have to reconfirm with Krista so we're on the same page with this. I've never pictured him shaving his head bald, and I can't totally recall the exact wordage we used in the podcast. But in Unlucky Like Us, it's described as, “His hair is cut short, and the color is ash brown, his natural hue. The dyed strands were fried, so he’s starting anew.” All of this to say....this would be a really fun scene to actually write! And then the details would be a lot less vague too ☺️

Krista & Becca Ritchie

Warms our hearts to know you've read Marrow's books so many times!! It means so much to us!! Thank you for loving the Like Us series enough to keep going back to them 🥰 I've recently heard so many amazing things about Lisa Kleypas's Wallflower series! I'm gonna have to finally check it out!! ~ B

sofia

thank you so much for the clarification! i was a bit worried there lmaoo but even if he had a buzz cut he could’ve been twinning with garrison!😁🤭 and omg yess I would love to see this as a bonus scene! 🥰😏

izzy

also, another question Is tom secret crush his love interest I don't think so because I don't think you'd introduce Phoenix for nothing but him liking someone before Phoneix makes me a little sad that means they didn't have a instant connection when they met

Maud

yes i loooove rereading!! usually i wait a while, until i miss the book so much that i HAVE to reread. and yes, your entire universe has been reread and will probably be reread again ;)

Jess

I wait to reread. Currently rereading Alphas Like Us ❤️🐺

Arrow

The Wallflower series is just awesome. I've reread them all countless times, but especially book 3 - The Devil in Winter. Sebastian St. Vincent is just the absolute best rake. I think I've said this before, but he is the closest hero to Charlie Cobalt that I've read (with maybe some of Beckett sprinkled in), at least based on what we know now. St. Vincent is similar - but still quite different.

Dixie

Depends on the book already read ULU 4 times First reread was a week after i read it for the first time, then i reread it again straight after i finished. i have reread the rest of the LU series once 2 weeks before the release ULU, but i mostly go back to my fave chapter ( mainly Luna focused scenes e.g Luna tongue piercing, Luna joining tour, jane walking in on lunelly, Sulli telling Luna about her relationship, the frat party scene (read these mainly during the past 2 months) and read the chapter around the events). Also cannot wait for the Bonus scene so excited!! (I want it to be released soon! :))

Lauren Gibbs

I am a big re-reader and it's for different reasons depending on the book! Sometimes I re-read to help get a deeper understanding, if the world is super complicated sometimes I'll miss little details on my first read. But I also love to re-read for comfort! If I'm sad or feeling not my best, I like to re-read books that I love to make me feel better! I'm in KY and it's hotter than it has any business being, so I hope you guys are surviving Hell's Porch! LOL

madzz

I am a big re reader. I usually read read the book twice before moving on to another book.

Teresa

It depends on the book, only a few have I ever done an entire book reread but I have reread certain parts on books immediately after a read. Do you ladies have plans to write Oscar's POV for a bonus scene in Unlucky and anymore Bonus scenes for Farrow like when Loren confronts Farrow in the beginning of the book or even the night Donnelly gets arrested starting from when he Donnelly and Oscar are in the car?

Yasti

I can reread large chunks of books (and I do that pretty often!) but I don’t usually reread books in their entirety. I have the urge to reread books I’ve enjoyed as soon as I’m done with them, but I try to wait a few weeks or months (to forget the little details) so that the rereading experience feels better 😇 I’ve fully reread Sinful Like Us (I LOVE Jane and Thatcher so much 😍), Infamous Like Us, and Charming Like Us probably three or four times!

Lucia

Charming Like Us is probably my book with most rereads :)) it's my comfort book with the good vibes and fun Oscar and Jack bring. (Also love all the insight we get of Charlie, Jesse and the Oliveira family.)

Yasti

CLU is a comfort read of mine, too! It feels like a breath of fresh air every time I read it. It was really fun getting insight into those characters you mentioned, especially because most of them aren't usually too big of side characters in the rest of the LU series. I really liked learning about bits of Oscar and Jack's respective cultures and heritage, too :)

Jess

Somebody please help me. Where is the bonus scene from the car crash in Alphas Like Us? I didn't dream that did I? Lol 🤦‍♀️

kelsey

i’m a HUGE rereader! i love when i find a book that i really love, and i have a hard time parting with it. i do tend to space my rereads out, and i usually only reread when i’m in a reading slump. nothing gets me out of a slump faster than rereading one of my favorite books 🫶🏼

kelsey

you didn’t dream it hahah, it’s under the special bonus scenes!

Meagan

I love rereading my favs. As soon as I finished Addicted After All I immediately was rereading it. I even reread it while I started Fuel the Fire. MLU I immediately started rereading. ULU I needed a couple of days but now I’m on my third reread. Here in Ohio it is pretty hot but I despise the snow so I’ll take this over that anyway. I hope you girls stay cool!

Jess

I feel so dumb....if I had kept scrolling I would have found it.

shi luvs st.cobalt

I’m not someone that usually rereads books - but I do on occasion! :) Instead of rereading the entire book again I tend to just go back and reread my favorite scenes whenever I get a hankering for them **but** I have reread Damaged Like Us (in its entirety) a couple of times because it’s a comfort read of mine. 🥹🤎 I am also hoping for fall weather to arrive sooner rather than later (I melt in the summer months and thrive in the fall)! I hope it cools down soon for you guys! *sending hugs & a cool fall breeze your way (🫂✨🍂)*

Phoebe

Love doing re reads! KBR universe is very daunting to re read it’s massive 😂

Teresa

Quick question ladies in the All about Unlucky like us podcast you mentioned you might do a Lunnelly book 4 , in the podcast you released in April the General discussion about the Addicted series,Circus is family and the cobalt empire series you mentioned there might be one more book, is the Lunnelly book what you were talking about?

Lucy H.

if I really loved a book or a series, I generally like to reread it. but there still are so many other books that I haven't read but still want to read. so I kinda prioritized them for now. but the whole addicted/calloway and LU series are on my list of rereads. hopefully I will have the time soon to start the reread 😊

Arrow

Quick question: I just noticed that the ULU hardcover is sold out in your online shop. Do you plan to re-stock it & if so, will character notes still be available? Thanks!

Teresa

Do you ladies think Farrow would have hit Charlie if Ripley wasn't there and if Donnelly hadn't of pulled him back? Also, I need a bonus scene of Farrow snapping at the colleague who asked Luna if she wanted a rape kit and him snapping at the nurse who stabbed Donnelly multiple times with a needle 😆 Protective older brother instincs activated 😆

Krista & Becca Ritchie

Totally understand that! There are some books where I wish I could 100% wipe from my mind just so I can reread to have the first time reading experience again bc reading a second time is a different experience altogether xoxo ~ B

Krista & Becca Ritchie

There are some scenes in Oscar's POV we'd want to write in the Unlucky timeline! Same with Farrow. There is actually a ton we could potentially write, so we're most likely going to continue to try to write around this timeline and People Like Us timeline for a while.

Krista & Becca Ritchie

We weren't referring to an extra Lunnelly book when we were talking about another one in the series in that podcast ☺️

Krista & Becca Ritchie

Yes, we plan to restock and character notes WILL be available! The character notes will exist for Unlucky until Nobody Like Us releases 💕 So you'll have until January to get them!

Krista & Becca Ritchie

We can't picture Farrow hitting Charlie in that situation, even if Ripley was gone and Donnelly didn't pull him back. It takes a lot for Farrow to get to that point, and the only way he *might* actually hit him is if Charlie wasn't related to the famous families. But since he's Maximoff's cousin/friend and has all of these relationships and he's a client...it's just messy. Omg those would be really good bonus scenes! Adding them to our list xoxo

Teresa

Ok thank you for clarifying

Sioned

Hurrayyyyyy more of my sunshine couple!
