Weekly Recap

Happy Friday, magical & heroic beauties! Today is cover reveal day, which means we're a little bit more giddy than usual. We shall post the cover below for all those that haven't seen it yet on our Instagram. We're obsessed with it! We feel like it's the right combo of romantic vibes plus angsty vibes while keeping with our "object" cover branding. But really, we're even more pumped that you all get to read the back of the book blurb! FINALLY we can talk a little more about this book, and it's sooooo freaking exciting!

And we know it's so different than our indie novels that publish super quick. This one has a bit of a wait. But if you're a blogger or reviewer, there will be ARCs before the release (the publisher picks who gets them), so that should lessen the wait for some. For others, we promise, the wait will be soooo worth it!

ABOUT DISHONESTLY YOURS

We're so pumped for this! We're working on pass pages for it right now, which is the final step before this baby goes into the last stages of production. We're just so proud of this one, and we really can't wait for you all to read it. 💕

I absolutely love this cover. Definitely something I’d love to have on my bookshelves. The blurb also reminds me of a bunch of shows WB/CW from the late 90s and 2000s. Honestly, I was a bit skeptical about this one (mostly because it’s not a part of the romance genre I usually read). However, the cover combined with the millennial nostalgia in the blurb makes it a must pre-order for me.

The DY cover is **stunning**! I adore the color palette & the little gold spider is such a cute addition! :) The blurb also sounds right up my alley! I adore stories that are set in small costal towns — it brings me back to my paranormal romance roots — and the fact that there’s a Halloween scene?! I could not be more excited! Ohhh possibly because our teaser videos were darker in vibe/colors lol 😄 Out of all the cover versions/drafts, this was actually the "darkest and moodiest" and fits the book the absolute best! We loved loved loved working with Berkley on developing this cover. They were amazing and so open to hearing our input 💗

We grew up loving con artist shows too! One show back in the day called The Riches was something we watched with our whole family, and our parents still bring it up and go, "Do you remember that one show...?" 😂 Even though it only had one season lol Dishonestly Yours has a bit of a darker tone than The Riches though and shows like Leverage, which I believed used to air on the USA channel? Or maybe TNT? But we sort of consider Dishonestly Yours more like the TV show Shameless if it was a bit grittier (less comedic at times and more grounded) and the family were conning others so they could be in wealthy social circles.

Pinterest deleted his board! We haven't had time to redo his whole board (and really, I feel like we're still mourning the loss of it). I honestly can't believe that out of every single board, Dimitri Kotova's board is the one Pinterest decided to delete. He's always the bridesmaid, never the bride, and now THIS? Tragic 😭 I do think we'll eventually remake his board, but it might take some time. I wish I could remember everything on it! Now he definitely needs his time to shine in a book and on Pinterest. We gotta make it happen ~ B

YES! The book was called Reign of Spiders. The first book I ever completed at like 12/13 was called Living on the Edge. Second thing was Wynter Chelsea: The Legacy and Wynter Chelsea: The Sublimity. So I suppose the Reign of Spiders was the fourth novel I ever completed, and it was one of the first times Krista joined in on my writing! (She wrote a lot of incomplete stories when we were kids and I would DEVOUR them. She also had this one storyline that ended up being a million-words long but never had an ending. I was so mad when she just abruptly stopped it.) We reworked the Reign of Spiders together in hopes that maybe we'd find an agent. We were still in high school. We were big dreamers. We would send out manuscripts printed to agents, and we crossed our fingers they'd represent us. Our mom would even take us to these workshop conventions where agents would give us feedback and read about fifteen pages of our manuscripts. Even though we always got rejected, those workshops and that little bit of time with an agent did help us become better writers. We would tweak our novels a ton. In college we wrote a novel called the Perfect Madness, and that was the one we thought would be it. We had really good feedback on it. But we still couldn't get an agent. (To get trad published, the first step is to get an agent to represent your work. We bought these huge hefty books in the bookstore which had agent listings and what they were looking for and whether they were open for submissions. They came out every year with new ones, and our mom would get them for us every year in high school, so we could keep sending out queries by mail. Now email is so much easier 😂) And then we wrote a more urban fantasy book called Beneath a Strong Sentiment (you've heard about it if you've read Misfits Like Us! That was our book that never saw the light of day), and we were like THIS BOOK IS IT! It still wasn't the one. So then, in our last year of college, we decided to stop trying to get an agent. After all those years. Self-publishing was on the rise in 2013 with the new adult genre just emerging, and we wrote Addicted to You knowing we would self-publish and it would be our last hoorah and shot since we were going in two different directions (she was pre-med and I was definitely not science-brained lol). After everything we'd written together, the two characters that stood out to us the most, that we loved the most, were from the Perfect Madness. They had a soulful childhood romance, and in Addicted to You, we brought them to life in a new context, new story, new plot, new everything except the essence of their love. They were Loren and Lily. Then we self-published Ricochet while still in college. And once Addicted for Now was self-published, we finally got an agent. So that is a long-winded way of saying, yes The Reign of Spiders was a childhood manuscript with a lot of love and a dream behind it, and like most of our childhood works, they sort of live on. There is so much that changes, but the spirit is still there. So this whole new series is a bit emotional for us, the same way that the Addicted series was. ❤️

We really, really hope so!! This is something we'd have to see with the publisher, but our fingers, toes, every tendril of hair is literally crossed hoping that they'll do a boxed set because it would be sooooo awesome for the series!

We were 100% going for the vibes of late 90s and early 2000s WB shows when we wrote it ☺️ Ahh we're so happy the blurb is making you want to pre-order!!! Krista & I definitely think this one will appeal to a lot of readers who love our writing. I can confidently say I think it's one of the best things we've ever written (and if anyone disagrees with me by the end, I shall eat my words! But I do believe it in this moment!! 😆)

1. We'd ideally love to have another book ready for it when we do the revamp. If things work out to where we can add a third book to the series, then that's definitely what we'd want to do. 2. We're not sure we can say anything about the release dates for the rest of the Webs We Weave series, since the publisher hasn't given us the exact dates and they can change them if they'd like, depending on the books they're releasing during the year. 3. Donnelly was never in a group home. He lived with his grandmom when his parents when to prison.

The trilogy focuses on Phoebe and Rocky. Their POVs are in all three books. It's not a series of standalones where the POVs switch between couples 💗
