Happy Friday, magical & heroic beauties!! We're coming to you with the very last Fizz Hangout of the year. And what a year this has been! It truly feels like 2023 just began and also lasted forever. It was a very different year for us in that we've been working with a traditional publisher and re-releasing all of the Addicted Series on top of our indie projects. This year was all about closing up the Like Us books and starting a whole new world with the Webs We Weave cast of characters. In a way, it's been a super bittersweet and nostalgic year, and one of our favorites (in large part due to Luna & Donnelly, we love them so much). And we've been so thankful to do what we love, and we're so grateful for all of you who love these characters so much. It's the best feeling in the world, and we're so excited for everything to come next year. Thankyouthankyouthankyou for being here this year, and we hope to see you in 2024!! 😊

I love hearing Variant Luna’s take on how her siblings have changed. I hope she tells Xander how proud she is of his progress in the last 3 years. When she told Moffy he was a better version of himself, I could feel how that would affect him.

The scene that has stuck with me since I’ve read it is from Some Kind of Perfect: the almost fake drowning by the pool scene with Eliot, Tom, Lo, and Ryke. 😂 This scene (and honestly every childhood scene made me fall in love with all the kids, but I feel like Eliot, Tom, and Luna were showcased so well in SKOP) and this one especially and the one where Rose brings Eliot and Tom over for a sleepover with Luna saying it’s because they’re in trouble *my heart* 🫠

My fav scene I ever read was SKOP Ch 27 when Ryke and Sulli rushed out to the gym in fairy costumes and Sulli said "he's my grumpy fairy godmother" and Connor said "only one-third accurate" lmao I laughed out loud

My favorite is the end of HLU where Donnelly tells Farrow and Maximoff they’ve adopted Ripley - through the end of HLU where Maximoff introduces Ripley as his son while showing him the place he and Farrow first said they love each other. That was just such a perfect ending!

My favorite moment from all your books is the car crash in Alphas ❤️‍🩹 When Oscar runs up and screams "Redford" and Farrow thought "I've never been so happy to hear my middle name"... Ugh we got such a deeper look into him. He pretends to be fine alone but the tactile relief he felt when Oscar ran up really came through. We saw so much more of so many characters in that scene. It was a turning point for so many characters and relationships & my heart was on overdrive the whole time I was reading! Then the aftermath bonuses tied it all up so nicely 💗

Multiple!! How can I pick?!? The bonus where Luna goes to charlies to edit her fic (I forgot what its named) and the cobalt brother lunch and everything in misfits and unlucky!! (Luna and donnellys first kiss is one of the best first kisses ever written and I WILL die on that hill) the scene where donnelly and luna dance in his room after her memory loss 😭😭 theres probably a million more I’m forgetting too 😭😭 Can’t wait for 2024!!

Not from a book... but I LOVED the babysitting duties bonus, I feel like that timeline is something we rarely ever see. (Please do more!! Especially would love to see Moffy, Jane & Charlie in high school and read how their dynamics were then). Also.. does Charlie still wear his rook piercing? I feel like it was only ever mentioned in that one bonus or has it actually been mentioned in the books?

Maybe not for the most positive reason, but the moments between Farrow and Donnelly in ULU are the most memorable to me. That and the Rose POV bonus scenes, I just love being in her head!!

Hello and wow what a 2023 year it has indeed been. 🤜 🤛 I would like to formally thank you guys for your contribution to that. While there have been many shifted changes in my life (Finishing my Masters in Law, passing the bar exams, starting as an associate at my law firm 🥵) the one constant has always been my love for you guys and the wonderful literary universe you have created here 💕. I feel i have been disproportionally absent i feel this year 🥲, and Iike i said in the last fizz hang out, i will make it one of my new years resolutions to check in every friday and write a mini pen pal (public lol) message prompted by your weekly asks 🗳️🤭. Speaking of, my answer to this week's Q, is obviously the Lunalley steamy bathroom scene 🤯! Cuz HOLY HELL. I literally thought nothing could get steamer since Marrow in Lovers Like Us bathroom scene, but i feel like you guys almost smirked and just said, "Bet, Laura Bet" and delivered this one 🤪. I frfr think it is the best steamy chapter in the Like Us era so far! I muse about it WAYYY to much in the most inopportune time (like at MASS) hahahah. As this Era comes to a 'close' I have to stress that it is not ever finished 🤣. My delulu mind cannot take the idea that it is 'ending' so i will pitch forth what my boss says when another case comes in that requires more attention which is, "this current era has been, de-prioritised' 🤌. And I must say, for us Like Us era frenzies it is better for our delulu brain 🤪. I would also like to take a moment to reflect on my own personal 'superlatives' on what i am most 'excited' about in the Like Us era with whats to come 🤓. I truly look forward to seeing these varied as I love surprises and ironically, be proven wrong 🍀! My most "Looked forward to" Characters in the Cobalt Era are: Ben and Leo 🏆. Leo has caught my eye since he was first mentioned in Damaged/Lovers bc I am such a sucker for the arrogant, Icarus fallen angel trope ☀️🪽. The fact that he is also a prima ballerino just puts gasoline on my favourite male trope which has be feeling like the 'elmo in hell' gif ready to explode from excitement hehe. Ben bc, well, I wrote a love letter a few months ago back lamenting about how much I love Ben and his attributes (which i find very similar to Barry Allen). Again like i said, my judgements may be completely way off as we haven't even begun their books so it would make me no better than a paparazzi, judging them from the outside and feeling like i have their personalities summarised before their own books. It boils my blood when people entile themselves to knowing the characters who haven't had their books yet bc it is entirely arrogant and unbecoming. That being said, I love BEN hahaha. He seems to display a calculated cobalt Quietness which he often feels like he is being judged for, i love his independence from his brothers that he feels like he doesn't need to be eccentric to make a difference but finds resolute in order, how he keeps to himself, is sociable when need be, mature, humble, and a bit of a soft boy. He is unapologetically smart and he never forgets the human emotion especially when dealing with nature 👒. He again, seems unashamedly very neat, everything put away and had a place, because instinctively that something important is always about to flash right through him, and if he lets his world too messy he may never find it. He loves order, school, loves reading books and maybe even pop culture and horror movies with the Hales and Meadows. Another sweet thing about him, is because he get's into his own world (kinda like Moffy!) and goes into his mind palace, which seems entirely endearing 🥰🥰. But he has a side of posessiveness and emotional outpour that crops up which we have seen crop up a few times in the Like Us era! So yeah! That is my fav Cobalt and will patiently wait till his time comes 🤩. Most 'curious' character goes to Eliot and Charlie for sure 🧐. Them two, seem to have a very pin-ed down persona that everyone seems to type cast them as, and tend to play into it. But, in the inside there seems to be a very big self loathing and turmoil that i find fascinating 😲. Charlie's aloofness and Eliot's extroverted thespian behaviour seem almost so obvious, is it maybe laid on 'too much' as to deflect from something beneath, Question mark, full stop *twirls Sherlockian mustache* Curious, very Curious 🤔 *queue Olivander's Voice). Again, these are are educated guesses, I am in no way presupposing to know them, just some general thoughts on what i think they are and how i find them invigorating. I look forward to seeing their arcs grow and breathe as we breathe through the novels 😁. Most 'neutral' character i feel about is probably Jo 🤗. Now, hear me out. I DO see the necessity for her and probably wouldn't have her any other way ⚡️, I am just saying it's not a character that emotional fills me like the others have 🤗 ^. For example, especially due to booktok, the enemies to lovers trope has completely skyrocketed in love, which is great 💥, and i am not about to tell off everyone who says that their fav that theyre wrong! It's just not my cup of tea personally 😊. I tend to love second chance loves and friends to lovers more than anything. In that same line of thinking, her style of character is not personally what i gravitate towards but that doesn't mean that i would have her any other way 😌. I am not really a fan of characters who are not like other people in order to stand out (i.e. provocative on site when meeting a love interest when hosted on their jet or sometimes comes across as showcasing how she doesn't befall Beckett's spell under women bc she wants to be like other folks). But i see the need for it! 🫶 Especially for teens who read her character and see the need to prove to their love interest in their own lives that they are different from their past lovers. That's totally fair! 🤝 And again, my points are minutely contigent on the small crumbs we got. And it would be a false equivalency to say i have her personality nailed down. Jo's character would have probably been in my top 3 if i were to read her 4 years ago, when my aggy aries was in full beast mode on site 😜 hahaha. I think british work culture has forced me to mitigate it unduelly tho 😳. So yeah! probably the least character i gravitate towards, but like i said, I am so ready to be surprised by you guys 🤪. If there is one thing you guys do as a status quo is make me love EVERY character and tape a trope and go "bet" and deliver the most amazing character arcs I read! Most 'endearing' character has to go to Roxanne 🩰. I am such a sucker for a character who is unaware (humble) how much they BEJEWEL an entire room 💎. And from the two instances we have seen her, she does exactly that. She catches us by surprise and seems incredibly humble, all while being someone who seems a lovely ballerina🥰. And as a former ballerina myself, I look forward to reading a ballerina who makes mistakes in ballet. FR. Not in a 'i wanna see her struggle sadistic way' but its so uncommonplace to see a ballerina who doesn't gatekeep their struggles against pirouettes or falling for example, bc ballerinas and ballerinos are perfectionists 😳. And hide struggles behind closed doors. What youre cooking here feels like a PHD study that feels like its never been done before and is entirely kaleidoscopic 🎨. Now, having this paired to an extremely intellectually perfectionist mind like Charlies? Oh boy this feels like two stars colliding 🌠. I cannot wait to read how they will help the other blossom it the most surprising ways and just enjoy the ride. I have zero expectations ever when it comes to KBR novels bc i love to go in blind and this is another wonderful character that I am so happy was not shared too much about bc the glitter and glamour of whats to come is FR! 🤩 Lastly, Aesthetic i am most looking forward to: Has to be the cobalt work ethic 📈🗂️. I think my heart will always remain with the like us and hales (geeky, coach potatoing, reading and nerdy) but i have noticed especially since this year more and more my life is being swallowed by work 👩‍💻. And the formalities of work (i am in heels everyday yall who would have thunk! 😳) . So being seen and reading the work ethic, duty bound Cobalts in all areas that they would is something i am severely looking for directioning from 🥹. So yeah! That's my own personal 2024 'looking forward to' superlatives 🎉! I apologise for the spam and ever loquacious messages but the TLDR of it all is: i am excited for literally everything! 😜 A special shout out will go to my fav couple of Like us Era which is forever Marrow 🥹 (I have the wonderful 25th birthday gift you guys sent me by my bedside table everyday in remembrance of their/and ur literary chokehold on me! 🤓) and a special shout out to Xander who i feel closer than ever before in my year of reading only Sanderson 📚 (except for the nightimes which are reserved for only rereading KBR novels 🫡). I cannot wait for his novels even though I am aware it won't come any time soon and I am very patient to craftsman ship 🤭. (Wouldn't be me if I didn't also mention a Post script message), I have been forgetting ALL year to tell you guys this! 🤣 So, the current writer for the batman series is Chip Zdarsky and the artist is a very handsome gentleman named 'Jorge Jimenez'. He came from the shonen manga world and has quickly climbed the ranks and become the most favoured DC artist rn! 🏆BTW, now is the best time to jump into batman comics if you want the latest entry point, its at the beginning of their run which starts with issue #125 😉💥. So back to this artist, everyone jokes and says he literally looks like a superhero, bc of how handsome he is 😍! And get this, when he came on my radar back in Jan of 2023, the first thought i had was "OMG Oscar is that you?!" 😯🫨 he looks identical and while being Spanish and not portugese, could fr fit the bill! And what a small world that he is in the comic book world! I.e. Moffy's world! His How funny would it be if Moffy mentioned this to farrow/Oscar that the hit artist at DC (who maybe he secretly admires 👹) LOOKS like Oscar?! Like Us characers aside, his artwork is truly amazing 🤭. My fav as well by far 🥰. I am under his spell alas. Omg, that whole scene with The Troublemakers is **so good**! I reread it all of the time! 🤌 —— “𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘯𝘰 𝘥𝘳𝘶𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘳?” 𝘐 𝘢𝘴𝘬. 𝘛𝘰𝘮 𝘣𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘴, 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘶𝘮𝘱𝘵𝘦𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦. I can imagine this moment so clearly that it makes me laugh a little bit, even though I do ultimately feel bad for Tom because he just wants to finish his album (☹️). I personally believe that Daniel cursed him when he quit the band & Tom needs to get Kinney to work on reversing that ASAP (😂🔮).

There are so many great moments to choose from! I struggled to choose just one, but I do think that I have to go with the Ripley scene at the end of ULU where he gets knocked over by Orion (🥺)! I do feel a little bit silly for choosing that one — when there are so many emotional and meaningful scenes in ULU that I also love and appreciate — but I thought Ripley was so precious in that scene with Orion. His little “𝘈𝘭𝘭 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥, 𝘗𝘢𝘱𝘢,” & brushing the imaginary dirt off of his knees, even though he fell onto his back, was so adorable. He’s too precious (😭🤎)! —— I hope that you guys have an amazing end of the year (🥳✨)! 2023 was such an incredible time for the addicted-verse, and I cannot wait for everything that’s to come in 2024! :) (I already know that NLU + DY are going to be the highlights of my 2024! 🤎)

They really are Shi 😭😭😭 the Kotovas are my ultimate comfort characters. Personally I see myself so much in Luka and Timo and Katya and I’m so happy that we got Luka’s book and I’m screaming at the fact we might get more CIF books I desperately want to see Dmitri and Camila’s story

YES YES YES YES SCREAMING THIS FROM THE ROOFTOPS BY FAR ONE OF MY FAVORITE SCENES IN THE LIKE US SERIES and how Oscar is there the entire time and he tells Farrow to take a second when his hands are shaking. Oscar’s there not just holding an umbrella but we all know he was there for Farrow too that night. In the Special Bonus Scene where Akara and Oscar forced Farrow to sit and get checked out. the car crash will never not make me cry

It's likely he took it out and doesn't always wear it since it's not mentioned in the books, but he still has the piercing and wears it at times 💗 It'll likely be brought up in the Cobalt Empire series.
