It's the deep-dive!! We go in-depth and behind-the-scenes of Nobody Like Us chapter by chapter to dish about our favorite moments, the construction behind the novel, and the depth of Luna & Donnelly's romance. It's nearly 4 hours, and we hope you enjoy this big peek inside the creation of the final book in the Like Us series!! We loved writing this book, and so we had lots to talk about, particularly Luna & Donnelly's romance arcs and their relationships with friends & family. We don't spoil anything in the future, but we do touch upon some little Cobalt Empire tidbits as well.

***spoiler alert Just got to the part of the podcast about the O’Malley reveal. I was one of the readers who had worked up like 10 different theories about this. I wanted to say that this was not disappointing at all. Mostly because some of my theories had Donnelly related to other characters. And I actually liked it a lot more that Donnelly’s found family was not related to him. It made his relationship with Farrow and Lo in particular that much more touching. Anything else would have detracted from that and may not have been as satisfying of a conclusion to the series.

I found they were a bit giddy about Spencer. So she’s going to yale in Connecticut. Not NY like Xander. They’re not certain she’ll be back. But earlier in the podcast where they talk about new people being described in looks and background etc, they’re usually because they’re there to stay. (Btw I hate that for Jeffra!) when they talk about Spencer they say that they really were precise (rewriting) about how they described her in the book. So yeah, that might as well have confirmed that she’s coming back and being someone’s love interest (must be still Xander’s) right?!!

But still, don’t you think they would sometimes snoop around, what kind of romantic gestures or other things they would like because they write about them so much. Or family and friends (or random people) asking them as partners about things in kbr s books 😅

Omg the confirmation of Beckett, jo and Leo! I know you guys get a fair amount of hate on this ship or at least used to and tbh I wasn’t huge abt the idea at first but that was probably bc of the lack of info on Leo cuz now I’m all for it! But I do hope it’s a proper three way relationship cuz as much as I love sulli banks and Akara I wasn’t huge in how it was both of the guys there for sulli romantically and not each other aswell whereas I can see Beckett and Leo having a romantic relationship with each other as well as jo

We’ll not see Charlie and Roxanne in 1 scene together before burn bright. So no bonus scene with both of them. But possible we’ll see a glimpse of her from someone else, without Charlie. But I think this means that we willll see them interact in burn bright! 🎉 at least that’s what I hear out of it!

I ravaged the podcast today. Thanks so much! It was like our group discussions on the spoiler chat and then some! What I really am interested in is how of when they got the 3 New York guys to stop, who harassed Luna with calls and texts. I feel like they would have found another way to get to her, now she has another phonenumber. And especially since we know 1 name of one of the 3 guys (although o don’t recall his name right now). I feel like this is something a cobalt brother would solve. As did Charlie with the Rochester at the shore side restaurant. Will we see this being resolved in Burning Bright or will we see it in a bonus scene some day?

I loved how you described Ben being the obvious and best pov to start the cobalt empire books with. Starting a series and being to be able to read it stand alone. With him being young and while reading from his pov really having the feeling all the other guys are so much older. I’m so looking forward to BB. Thanks!

I must have missed the ULU podcast because I didn’t know the origins of BASS. Love that parallel for you all and the Thebulan saga 👽💚 I’ve been wondering about BASS since MLU because the show seems so well flushed out but I couldn’t find anything about it online! I did kind of think that Human Him, Cosmic Her would eventually get published for Halway Comics which was even more sad for me when her fics leaks and she deleted them because I realized it would probably never be formally published 😭

Not gonna lie, and I know it doesn’t matter but the whole Leo being added with Jo and Beckett kind of made me want to cry. I really enjoyed their banter and just them, I felt like Leo took away from them and didn’t add to them as a couple. Oh well, what are you gonna do? I’m still gonna read the books. Tom & Leo, that was something I could get behind though.

I agree 100%. I’m gonna read the book anyway, but Leo/beckett/jo is just not interesting to me. What’s the conflict? Sulli has already gone through every criticism there is regarding a triad. Rose and Connor, unlike Ryke, could not care less if their son is in a poly relationship. The other Cobalts feel the same way. I mean, the rest of the Hales and Meadows are completely fine at this point too. So what’s the issue here? Joana and Beckett already have chemistry and possible roadblocks to create tension and conflict in their relationship. What Leo is gonna bring to the table? “Oh he’s Beckett’s rival! Both guys want to be number 1! They’re gonna hate-fuck!”. So? That is it? Even their interactions are just plain idiotic 🫠 now, if Leo became a villain THAT would be interesting imo

I agree with both of you 100%! I’ll still read the book without a doubt I just don’t feel like there would a) be two triads in one family and b) I like him with Jo and I think Leo is unnecessary. Jo and Beckett already have amazing banter and everything I feel like it should be left that way. Also, Tom and Leo would be amazing!

Ngl, for me it's the polar opposite. The dynamic between Beckett and Leo in both - the bonus scene and nlu - was amazing. It's my fav after Lunnely so far. But the scenes between Beckett and Jo are cringy. And it's also a "the woman is younger and has less experience/forbidden love" - trope again which we had in almost every book.
