Happy Friday, magical & heroic beauties!! It's the first Friday of February, which means that all the new content of the month awaits you. We're so excited about all the cool things to come. And thank you all who picked up Nobody Like Us during the release week! It's been one week since it's been out and we're blown away by the response. We loved this book so, so much and to see others love it too has really capped off this series in such a profoundly joyful way. When we look back at this time in our lives writing the Like Us Series, we're going to have very fond memories, and it will have such a special place in our hearts.

Now that Nobody Like Us has released, we're shifting our focus since we have lots on our plates these days. So what are we up to now?  We're gearing up for the new print edition Long Way Down coming out on Tuesday, and we're busy bees working on the next book in the Webs We Weave trilogy.

Hi ladies!!! I had so much fun reading NLU - I laughed, cried and happy cried again. It was such a bitter sweet moment saying goodbye to the Like us series but looking forward to the cobalt series ahead!! With that being said, before you guys say no, hear me out. Can we pretty pretty pretty please get a few tiny tiny tidbits about Roxy? Nothing spoilery - I’m talking small, itty bitty, an atom size tidbit! I have been looking forward to getting to know Dimitri and Camilla’s daughter for so long and I’m dying (hear me when I say ladies) DYINGGGG to know anything I can about her. You ladies are the best! I finished NLU last Friday. I actually ended up purchasing both the Kobo & Kindle versions so I could read it as soon as it came out & have a copy for my Kindle (my preferred reading platform). I am doing a re-read of the Like Us series right now with the Patreon chat room group. For some reason, this re-read is just making me way more emotional. I think because I know the series will end and I won’t see the Like Us characters as main POVs anymore. I just really loved all of these characters. This re-read is also making me want to start the whole universe over again with Addicted to You. I have not read a series in a while that keeps me wanting to return to the universe!

I’m also really looking forward to Dishonestly Yours. I’m not sure if this is in any way accurate, but the blurb makes me think of a combination of Ginny & Georgia (one of my favorite Netflix shows!) and Gilmore Girls. My family also often goes to Mystic, CT and Cape Cod, MA for short trips in the summer, so the book sounds like it will be an especially fun summer read for me. I’m also really looking forward to re-reading the Kitsuletti books (especially Infamous) during the summer Olympics (and they are in Paris! The Cobalts would rejoice). I am not much into sports, it I tend to get really into the Olympics and always end up searching for a good Olympics romance, and inevitably getting disappointed because there are hardly any of these. I was just so thrilled when I read that Sulli was an Olympian & can’t wait to experience her books again this summer!

Hello hello girls! I am tuning in right now to respond that right now in honour of doing Lunalley justice i’m actually doing a reread of their three novels (haven’t yet read nobody yet!) including the bonus chapters! One chapter a night because I hate endings XD And omg IT IS SO SATSIFYING to read the Like Us era alongside the chronological reading order you guys helped/continue to make! It is truly spectacular. But the trade off is that I have to be more AFK because i am deeply scared of spoilers for what’s to come hence why i’m type thing with half the screen covered from other folks’ comments hahaha. And thank you for all the kind hugs for non-toxic work placements 🥹. Nothing is more defeating than being told daily that a toxic work enviroment is justified and that, “if you can’t stick it out here, you wont be a good attorney anywhere else!” It got so bad. My supervisor was yelling at me all the time (no joking yelling, i am not someone who yells and i wasn’t really grown up in a family where yelling was a thing) i had to wear heels everyday, I couldn’t EVER work from home, she criticised everything even my own personal notes and would get upset if if they typos?! She would gaslit me to no ends and i think getting yelled at in your mid 20’s like a child (even though yelling at children is a whole other toxic thing) is the most humilating experience ever I think. And she def made me believe (gaslighting) that I was “very bad” and “unprecise” in everything i did. And in my mind i was like, “well i would be less shaky like a chiwawa if i wasn’t scared I would literally get verbally assaulted from one second to the next!” And she boasted and would flaunt saying, “I am keeping you around for so long because i see ‘potential’ in you, unlike your predecessors for example whom most didn’t last the week”. and In my mind i’m like 🤯🤯 That’s not something to boast omg?! And also what am i suppose to say, “thank you for keeping me around?!” I spoke to some other folks in maybe flagging up the law firm for toxic work enviroment but honestly I’m so exhausted i just want to move on you know? I am SOO much better now mentally but already dealing in criminal defence renders you paranoid of all crimes because you’re on the ‘front line’ everyday but she def didn’t make it any better. Re Succession/ TV Shows OOO SO SO sorry! I remember Becca telling me she finished Succession a while back but figured that you might have finished as well now! You’ll have to tell me who you think will get the Roy empire when you get to it and the ending! It was very good. I remembered you reccomended Yellowstone to watch next but honestly as much as i reallyyyy wanted to watch it, i have a weird phobia against seeing animals hurt or animal cruelty or death in media (extreme projection and love for my dog hahaha) so i couldn’t really make it past episode 2 :(. So right now I am just caught up on Tratiors USA Season 2 and it is THE BEST thing ever! It’s literally the haul of fame of the haul of fame gamers and bravo housewives put together! And I’m sooo rooting for Phadra! She is CARRYYYING the show!!! Cannot reccomend it enough. I think now that I’m caught up i will def give 9-1-1 Lone Star a try! Or maybe Rome on Max :D. TVD is honestly CLASSIC! And tbh has a surprising re-watchability that most folks don’t expect! In your guys’ viewings of these shows- Do you have any ideas how the Like Us/Addicted cast would respond to 9-1-1, Rome or TVD? Can you imagine trying to get Marrow to watch TVD XD Oh my days to be a fly on the wall of those to XD I have never envied being a mosquito ever in my life until now. I just want to hang out with them, just like a fly on the wall, as they banter about their day! AND LUNALLEY TOO! I think them two as couples, are probably the most fun to big brother (pun intended bc i am hooked into s6 the entry point you guys u said u started at as well!) hahaha. Re The Beauty of Sharon and Steve Oh my days, i cannot RECCOMEND Captain america comics enough! I just LOVEEE Sharon Carter and Captain America as a couple! I cannot believe how much of a dis-service they did them in the MCU! Okay here’s my not so short elevator pitch on their comics. So as i have learned, in the beginning of the 2000s, like the X-Men Marvel NEEDED to revamp and sell the comics to a more Soap Opera (TVD-esque shall we say) less fight fight plot heavy audience. So when Morrison introduced the idea of Scemma in that run i always blab onto you about, Ed Brubaker subsequently was then in 'charge' of writing x-men for the better part of the 2000s. He already had a kick start in writing Cap and Sharon and was so inspired by Cap and Sharon he was influnced to giving them a similar treatment for how he wrote Emma and Cyc. Similar dynamics in the sense of, understanding cyclop's insecurities about the position he's put in, Emma meeting him on that, encouraging him to take risks, doing some of the dirty work for him so that he can feel good at night bc that's her love language. Same way Sharon sometimes kills bc Cap has crippling anxiety about killing folks. Not being oppressive, Lifting each other up in their respective roles and not trying to cuff them down into being a homebody. Etc. etc. And everyone loved Scemma for all those reasons! But unfortunately once Brubaker left X-Men, all the old nostalgic rats at marvel wanted their JG fix cuz that was the feature of their wet dream back in the 80s and defaulted back to JG and Cyc, retconning essentially all the character work they did for Cyc in the 2000s-2014s. HOWEVER, they NEVER did that with Cyc and Sharon. they kept them, to this day, 20+ years later. So reading them has been fascinating and seeing the wonderful growth is truly refreshing. I am currently reading Ta Nehisi Coates run (the run to read after Brubaker), and it is probably one of the best introspective runs on the traumas of a superhero ever, and extremely healing. the best way to read that run is not as a superhero run but as a love story. Kind of how like in Haunting of Bly Manor its tone is horror but the running string is a love story. Like don't go into it expecting the heights of espionage and a ton of superhero things, its there, but its not the deepest mindest of the story. Yeah there are villains, yeah there is Cap being Cap but at it's core, its about 2 traumatised people coming together and working through their trauma and falling harder in love with each other and reconnecting. Bc at the heart of the story is the relationship between Sharon and Steve. They are both two classically traumatised (as Marvel does) individuals. For Steve in the previous run in secret wars he was traumatised that everyone was thinking he was Captain Hydra and the loss of trust the public had for him, and for Sharon its what happened and What Captain Hydra did to her, including SA mentions and more trauma. So at the start of this run, these two were extremely vulnerable and even though they love each other already, they have to love now this added layer of trauma together to get to a place where they are truly happy. And they do it throughout the run! So shout out to good and few good introspective runs XD which seem far and few between nowadays.I truly, hand on heart, have not read a more traumatised on paper not in the background woman than Sharon Carter has. I didn’t know Marvel could go to that extent of showcasing vulerability. But boy was I wrong! Which is amazing opportunities to learn through Sharon how to heal not just for those around her but for herself. If we see our characters be vulernable, when they come out stronger we know how to do it. Which is the great marvel way: Mortal humans trying/failing to be Gods. There is also Peggy Carter that got in the mix and became a high key love interest for Steve, but it never stucks and what is truly great is that in runs like Coates you get to see WHY they don't work and you get to see Steve's introspection on why he feels safer and more understood by Sharon as oppose to Peggy. the MCU had the real grand potential of fucking up Sharon and Steve's relationship in the comics bc Peggy and Steve were the endgame by the MCU, but they still managed to weather the storm and come out stronger than ever together in the source material Which is truly amazing. Re On the Importance of Captain America Also... one more thing i forgot to mention about Cap that I love. Aside from being everything you know him to be everything you know him to be in the MCU, there is this element in the comics that really just emphasises that he is a person who strives to be the 'good-iest' (yes that word we reserve for golden retrievers) boy. He represents the best of us. He doesn’t have any crazy super powers - but he is reveared as the best leader mankind has ever, and will ever, witness. He has formed alliances across all facets, proven to doubters his capabilities, and won over even the evilests’ of respect. Cap to his core is the purest of characters, there is no one else like him, and it makes you want to bubble wrap him and protect him from all evils. In those ways it reminds me to that naivety and loveliness we have in Barry Allen. Cap literally went into the military bc he just hates bullies. I want i read about sometime making the hard choices that I don't know I'm capable of making. It inspires me to be better. That doesn't mean he has no struggles, but many of his struggles are in figuring out what the right thing to do is when the answer isn't clear. He's beyond endearing bc he is that classic american ww2 soilder who is chivelrous, likes old jazz music and doesn't swear and is polite to women calling them "ma'am" its SO sweet ah! Cap is the hero revered among the heroes for a reason, and not just because he was the "first" but bc He does what he does because it's the right thing to do. He's just so intrinsically good that he inspires everyone around him to be better themselves. I think the whole "man out of time" thing also lends itself to a certain sort of almost sadness around him. He's well adjusted, don't get me wrong, but there will always be a sense of alienation just due to his circumstances, his life, there's a sense of not quite belonging anywhere, and whole "living legend" status doesn't help either. There are people who want to use him and his image for their own purposes. And you know, it has that same sense of Top Gun vibes as well here. His comics are kind of timeless. Folks from different generations can read his run. Say you're currently 56 and have father that joined the Army back in the '60s mostly due to equal pay based on rank (not race). But you also have the teen in 2023 that goes to college gets a large degree and grows up with that same american dream but with a different version. He really puts an emphasis believing in the American Dream, the "inherent goodness" of our military, and a love of comic books (bc he loved drawing comic book panels when he was a kid!). And just the tip of the ice berg (pun intended) is that Captain America is this old fashioned man with old fashioned values -- protect the weak, fight injustice, be the best you can be, and find time to punch Hitler in the mouth if you can. A "normal" human at peak physical capacity, he used his brain as much as his brawn and was a trailblazer for equality. In many ways and at one time, he represented the best of what America had to offer. He kept his word, always strove to do the right thing, was color blind (was partnered with first mainstream black superhero), and was very patriotic. Not blind patriotism but more patriotic about America's promise and potential. Being patriotic myself, wearing the flag also appealed to me. I was much impressed with the first movie because it seemed that it captured the comic book spirit of Captain America very well. Always the boy scout. Never a bad word for people. Always did the right thing. His behavior was something to which I aspired.
 Most of this all you already know From your own viewings of the MCU! But even with this current run ongoing, it really hones into these morales and its just very good, consdiently well written runs one after the other. No major need for retcons, no awfulness, no status quo failsafe, no dark cap, no awful love experiences. Dare i say his run, is the 'goodest' of runs. So yeah! Cannot reccomend Cap’s modern era comics enough. It is surprisingly uncomplicated in terms of reading order! I do think though that after writing that ^, nobody should EVER hand over the batton of elevator pitches unless the elevator wait time is destined to go to the Moon XD. Because my GOD did i write so much XD. That’s it for now ladies. Cannot wait to hear back! I’ve finished NLU! It was so lovely! 🥹🤎 ——— Also! I was wondering if you’re still tuning into “The Challenge” (😅)? If so, what are your thoughts on how things have been going & who are you rooting for at this point in the game (👀)? I think that this season peaked for me when Cara showed up and put on a ✨show✨. I had **chills** during her entrance and her speech (I’ve missed seeing her on my screen 😭) & I just love the passion that she has for the game (🥹)! I am disappointed with the lack of physical eliminations this season (especially during the Chaos portion of the game). I love a good puzzle moment, but Cara Maria returns to the show for the first time in a long time and you give her a **puzzle** (😵‍💫)? I guess it was semi-physical since they had to push the blocks around, but still… I think I’m just rooting for Nurys at this point (everyone else is frustrating me lol). There were a couple of good opportunities for a power flip to happen, but everyone has been too scared to take them (don’t even get me started on Olivia’s decision this past episode 😵‍💫). Gosh, apologies for the longwinded rant! I’m not one to focus on the negative things, but this season has been all over the place imo (😅). I do hope others are enjoying it more than I am, though, and I do have strong hopes for season 40! :) ——— DY is also just 5 months away & I’m so excited! I’m counting down the days! ~~ 🤎

We did a Live with Haley about the puzzle art! I think she's even done stories with the puzzle art for NLU. We're waiting on our copy to take some pics with it. We love it so, so much! It's def one of my favs (if not my TOP fav) hardcover art of all of 'em!

Either March or April we'll be back on PLU, is my guess-timation. There are still some bonuses in the NLU timeline we hope to get to (and possibly the triple date from MLU) that we wanted to write first. But we shall be back to PLU before you know it! 1. We *might* do the what to expect podcast, or possibly another month. We're between a few ideas for the extra podcast. 2. We're going to give a couple more weeks at least before we reveal more character boards pertaining to the Like Us series/Cobalt Empire type of thing. We are doing character boards for Webs We Weave, so that's likely something we'll reveal soon too. And yes we recently found a model for Winnifred!! So her board should be coming at some point too. 3. Ah we imagine that if they didn't get tickets to the Fight Night, then they were at least in the casino since some of them live at the Masquerade 😉

Omg your ex-boss sounds absolutely awful and cruel. I’m so, so glad you were able to get out of there. No one should have to deal with that in a work environment. It breaks my heart people even do this to others. I’ve started Traitors! I’m slowly getting through it. I think they recap wayyy too much and the editing drags out the episodes, so for some reason I feel like it’s taking me forever lol. But Krista is all caught up!! Oh Farrow would LOVE Lone Star 9-1-1 since he tends to like shows with more LGBTQ+ leads, and the gay romance is amazing. So there is definitely a likelihood Maximoff & Farrow watch it. I could also see Xander loving Rome, as well as a lot of the Cobalts. I think 9-1-1 is something the Meadows would watch together, too. All the girls of the fam have seen TVD! Imagining the couples watching certain things and their reactions always makes me smile!! I think that must be why the Batman Returns bonus is one of my favorites. The Ta Nehisi Coates run sounds amazing!! I love the idea that it’s more of a love story than an action story. Sounds like my cup of tea for sure. “Cap to his core is the purest of characters” <— makes me think of Moffy and Farrow. This whole part too that you said: “Cap is the hero revered among the heroes for a reason, and not just because he was the "first" but bc He does what he does because it's the right thing to do. He's just so intrinsically good that he inspires everyone around him to be better themselves. I think the whole "man out of time" thing also lends itself to a certain sort of almost sadness around him. He's well adjusted, don't get me wrong, but there will always be a sense of alienation just due to his circumstances, his life, there's a sense of not quite belonging anywhere, and whole "living legend" status doesn't help either.” It all makes me believe how right Luna was in seeing Moffy as a Captain America. That is cool that his comics are timeless, especially since he basically transcends time in the comics. Wow now you’re making me want to read Cap’s comics before the Flash!!

This is actually the first season of the Challenge in decades that we both stopped watching. I just did not like the format overall and the fact that for over a month no one got eliminated -- it was too hard to keep watching. Did it get any better? I would fast-forward just to the eliminations so I could see the vets. I loved seeing Cara show up!! I can't wait for her to come back. On YouTube, they have a show called The Challenge: Home Turf (two episodes so far) and they show CT and Cara in their home towns and they go through their history on the show. It's really good if you haven't seen it yet! I'm not the biggest Nurys fan, but I heard that she becomes the underdog? I agree that the eliminations were so awful. The one they gave Laurel too wasn't good. I think my biggest issue with the season is no one is rootable or so likeable enough to keep watching. I just didn't care who won or who got eliminated. This season might go down as my least favorite (since I quit watching lol) of all-time. I'm definitely hoping the cast of season 40 is stacked with a lot of vets! We can't wait for you to read Dishonestly Yours!!! 🕷🍓

It didn’t get any better (unfortunately). 🥲 Jay + Michele’s side of the house kept the power, and there were some moments where it seemed as though there would be a power flip (which would’ve saved the season for me), but it never amounted to anything because the people that were trying to organize it (Horacio + Kyland) never had the numbers. 🫠 It was so frustrating to watch because there were players that would acknowledge that they were at the bottom of the Jay + Michele totem pole, but then they would refuse to make any moves to change that. 😵‍💫 There was one episode where Ed was almost voted down into elimination, but Horacio + Kyland’s group basically saved him by making it a tied vote instead, but when Ed gained power the next week he still chose to save Jay + Michele’s side of the house (even though they just proved that they didn’t really value him as an alliance member)?🧍‍♀️ There was also a chance for Olivia to turn things around during last week’s episode — and this was when she had supposedly flipped to Horacio’s side of the house — but she ended up betraying Horacio + Kyland + Nurys & chose to save Moriah instead of Nurys (which ultimately led to Horacio + Kyland + Nurys going into elimination & Horacio + Kyland going home that episode). I wasn’t a fan of Nurys at the beginning of the season either, but she has definitely become the underdog (since she’s the last one standing from Horacio + Kyland’s group), and she’s actually been in an elimination and won, so she’s the only one that’s left to root for in the final imo. 🫠 I’m glad that the final is upon us and that this season is almost over! I’m ready for season 40 to start (crossing my fingers that it will be better than this one lol 🤞😅).

I love that movie! We watch it almost every time we visit Mystic! The town is such a fun place to visit.
