We just got done chatting with Eternal Embers on Instagram LIVE -- so this question is inspired from the new Bad Rep Duet special editions! Do you love sprayed edges? And if so, do you display your sprayed edged books with their pages out or the normal way with their spines out? ️

Happy Friday, magical & heroic beauties!! We are just about to leave for Decatur, GA where we'll be all weekend for Love Y'all Book Fest. We live in Georgia, so this is right in our backyard, and we couldn't be more excited to be chatting about romance books all weekend! Because this is a jampacked Friday, we're going to keep this section short and sweet this week.

The glossy cover of Unlucky Like Us and the special editions are now restocked on the store 🎉

NOBODY LIKE US:

The paperback and hardcover will not be in the store until March. We will keep you updated when our copies come in and they're stocked. You will be able to request character notes inside these books, since it is a new release.

Sweetgrass Event: Nobody Like Us won't be on the preorder form, but we will be bringing a handful of copies of the special edition paperback to sell at our table.

i hope i can make the (possible) signing in march! i’ll actually be flying in to atlanta on the morning of the 9th for spring break, but i’ll be leaving for universal studios (yay harry potter world!) sometime soon after that. either way, hoping y’all have so much fun and i can call and reserve a copy!

I feel like my answer to this has really changed over time. When I first started reading romance, ebooks were not really a thing at all, so I’d always just buy the cheapest mass market editions of books and did not really care about special editions at all. Now I purchase ebook editions of every romance book I read including some of my older favorites that did not originally have ebook versions. The one exception is for Kindle Unlimited books. I often use Kindle Unlimited to try out new authors and won’t purchase these ebooks unless I really like the book. I’ve gone almost exclusively to ebook because I read a lot of non-traditional romances and independent romances that don’t always have easily accessible hard copies. Plus I just don’t have a lot of space for books. But I also have several somewhat irrational fears about only owning ebooks. What if one of the ebook providers collapses? Or what if a big storm or other natural disaster happens and all of my reading devices run out of power and I suddenly have no books? Or what is the apocalypse happens? (I realize this logic sounds kind of like Moffy’s doomsday scenarios). So I’ve now started buying hard copies of books that I just do not think I could live without. I will usually purchase the nicest, fanciest editions. Which means I would definitely purchase a special edition with sprayed edges. And I would probably display it with the spine-side out most of the time, but would flip it to the sprayed edge side just to see the pretty every now and then. That answer was a lot longer than I anticipated!

I'd display then at an angle so you can see the cover but also so you can see the edges!! I love all kinds of special editions I may be a hoarder of them 🤣🤣 I display all my like us SEs on little stands on my bookshelf like royalty 🤣🤣🤣 so so excited about NLU bonus scenes this month!! 🥰

Ooh, I've never actually had a book with sprayed edges but I love how they look! I feel like I'd have to have it displayed with the edges visible, like maybe one of those acrylic stands they have at the library! 👏🏻🤣💓

Hello !! 🤍 I think sprayed edges can be really pretty!! I don’t have one in my collection yet, but I’d definitely consider buying one !! <33 I was curious as to whether you guys have ever thought about opening an official KBR Discord server? Something as an added benefit for being a patron? I’m in a few fandom servers and it’s really easy to interact with other members and facilitate a sense of community !! I know it’s a big undertaking to create, organize, and run a server, but I’m sure there are lots of people in here that would love to help out and be mods!! It could be really fun and interact leading up to the release of Burn Bright :) This has been on my mind recently and I’ve been meaning to ask. We were discussing it in one of the group chats recently, so I thought I’d bite the bullet and ask 🙈🤍

I love sprayed edges on books! I think they add a fun little pizzazz to the design of the book! :) I do display my books with the spines facing outwards, though, because I’m always worried that the edges will get damaged somehow if they’re facing outwards (😅). I hope you both have a great time at Love Y'all Book Fest (🤎)!

I think this is a great idea (as long as it’s something that Krista and Becca would be comfortable doing)! :) It would be a large undertaking though (as you mentioned), so I 100% understand if they don’t have time for it at the moment (🫂)! I am also more than willing to help out in any way that I can, if needed! I think this is such an **incredible** community space & I love seeing it flourish! 🥹🤎

just saw the announcement post for the signing. so sad to miss the SKOP signing bc the thrive one was awesome, but i hope you guys and everyone who goes has so much fun!!! i still hope i can snag a couple copies once i do get to atlanta. the thrive signing was so fun and genuinely one of the best days ever, and while i wish i could be there to talk y’all’s ears off about ben and send mr. frodo more toys, i’m so excited for everyone who will get to meet you at this one!!! i made so many friends at the last event. it was literally the best. do you guys know if you’ll be doing one for DH?

The Thrive signing was one of our ultimate favs. It was just so special celebrating Lily's birthday with everyone. And Frodo is in love with his little toys you got him 💕 We will definitely be doing a launch event for Dishonestly Yours but it probably won't be at the Cumberland B&N and it might not be in Atlanta. We're working out details for it, so when we have more info, we'll let everyone know.
