Happy Friday, magical & heroic beauties!! This week was momentous as Some Kind of Perfect finally released in print from Berkley Romance and now all 10 Addicted series novels are together in bookstores!! We had such an amazing time being able to celebrate the new release with some readers at our local B&N. Even though there was a little monsoon outside, people showed up 🥹 and we are really grateful for those who braved the rain to be there! Thankyouthankyou 💖

Hello hello girls! I am a week LATE to answering this blog post Q and last week's! I am so glad you guys are enjoying the hype of Dune! I hope you enjoyed it? I think i’ve mentioned before how i’m not a real big fan of my favourite books getting adapted. Mainly bc i realise that i think, most times than not, it ends up disappointing me, or going against my own personal head canon of how i view the characters, all the while getting me resentful that they didn’t include my favourite things that make the book series my thing! Movies and shows need to include more of a wider audience than what it initially started with, or else why would C-suite stakeholders invest money if it was promised a greater profit? And a large part of why i am a book lover first, is because i get to feel all the dimensions of what the characters are thinking rather than just it be fed past to me via a screen if that makes sense? I often describe books like dreams. I dream up characters that the authors put out to me, and it is my happy place. So when for example, my favourite things that got adapted to the screen- A discovery of witches, Outlander, The Hobbit, the Silmarillion, the Expanse, Game of Thrones to name a few, i get really upset and take it personally why they changed the eye colour, change the storyline, or they didn’t include my favourite bonus chapter or what have you. But i’ve matured a lot, and am not of the belief that movie lovers of my favourite works have every right to enjoy it and love what i love, it just means that I’m only a book lover of the medium, and very irregularly enjoying the movie adaptation as well. Sometimes adaptations ruin fandoms irrevocably, so i’ll just hobbit my self away in with my books (pun literally intended lol) and wish well the movies and hope that the movies/tv shows land for THOSE who enjoy it. I remember reading dune when i was a teenager and finding it felt more of a work to analyse for an english class, than a ‘fun’ novel like the other fantasy series i enjoy that don’t break my brain :P. I think i preferred its colleague ‘Foundation’ by Asimov more. I felt it was just an easier read, and had more of my favourite tropes. That being said, I do really respect the series though and i’ve heard the fandom is really kosher and sweet. I hope the adaptions make the fans happy! Truly. Did you enjoy Dune? and the celebrity filled cast? (I feel like i see Florence Pugh and Austin Butler everywhere now!) What do you think Luna and Donnelly would think as well as the rest of the Hales? Where would their heads be at when it comes to their favourite book adaptations being made for the screen? Would some be more pure blood about book adaptations like how i am, or are others really good at divorcing the books from movies/ not let the movies oversaturate their POVs? :D With regards to my favourite cobalts... I think Ben is my favourite! Everyone else I am open eyed and wide to enjoy! I don't like to listen to alot of theories or anticipatory talk before their books come out because I want to go in with no pre-conserved notions or expectations. Because I found that's the best formula to enjoy our KBR universe! The only one I failed to keep a level head about is Ben. Ben for ALL the reasons we have discussed in the past. And also thank you for including details for when Nobody Like Us will be ready to order! I have NOT yet read it! BC I am saving the final bow novel to be read in physical form signed by you guys! So I can't wait! Referring to some of the fun topics we spoke on last blog post :)) : Traitors USA OMG my mind was SENT on the betrayal at the firepit! What did you guys think? I also loved how much love Phadrea got, she’s truly a queen when it comes to reading people and clap backs at them! Vanderpump Rules What do you guys THINK about everyone not really liking Adrianna’s way of ‘premadonna’? Do you think it is right/justified or do you think that its wrong? I don’t really know what to think! Podcasts I JUST CAUGHT UP WITH POP CULTURE LEFT OVERS and found out they are on an indefinite HIATUS?! WHATTTT? What's the tea?! OMG! How have you guys been choosing what shows and movies to watch next? Are you guys going to binge watch Oscar movies that are up for watching? Anyway back to podcasts, what do you guys' listen to now? ;)) Animations I have enjoyed I recently watched Elemental and it was so cuteee! I just had a head canon the entire time that this is something Luna would advocate for everyone to watch on a movie night, and as the movie went on, all the hales and their respective partners just closed their distance between one another. EVEN Marrow held hands probably at one point! It was just the cutest romance! I would def want to know what every Hale thought! And i am still so HUNG UP on Blue Eye Samaraui. It’s geninuely the best thing i’ve seen in YEARS! AHH!! love this question! 1. ben 2. eliot 3. charlie i could talk about ben for literally ever, but in short- ben is my all time favorite because i have always felt an attachment to his character. i feel like i’ve understood him on a deeper level since SKOP, and my love for him only grew in the like us series. i love his character arc thus far, and im so excited to see more of it!!! also, i am also very big on cause and effect, along with what you put into the world will come back to bite you so i really relate to him there. buttt y’all already know this because i continuously yap about it haha i also love eliot because he makes me laugh constantly, he is so insanely hilarious. then charlie is third because even though i’m a ben girl 100%, i respect his character arc and truly am excited for his story, even though he makes my man cry lol

This is tough for me! Mostly because I do think this may change a bit based on how their personalities develop in their books. My top three right now are: Tom, Beckett, and Eliot A lot of this has to do with their passions. I’m really excited to read books where music, dancing, and theater feature prominently in the plot. I have Tom at the top at the moment because I am unreasonably excited for his book playlist right now. I even started listening to My Chemical Romance again. I think I spent a good year with this group as my favorite band back in the 2000s. Beckett is basically tied for first, and only comes into 2nd because of my excitement over Tom’s playlist. I have never read a romance where the MC is a ballet dancer. This just sounds like it would be so much fun to read. Plus the “Devil”/bad boy angle is giving me Black Swan vibes for some reason - my favorite movie featuring Ballet. I am a huge horror fan! Eliot’s book is just going to be 🔥! I am also a big theater fan (especially musical theater). But more than that, after NLU I am super excited for a character with a Loki personality (love this!). I have also decided after reading NLU that Eliot is the closest Cobalt to one of my all time favorite MMCs Sebastian St. Vincent from Lisa Kleypas’s Wallflower series. I know this probably sounds like a bit of a broken record to other Patreons as I’ve mentioned this character a lot before. I used to think Charlie was more like him, but Eliot’s humor and rakish personality are a closer match. Also - Audrey or Jane would definitely be on this list if we didn’t already have Jane’s book or if we knew Audrey’s was in the Cobalt Empire. The anticipation of the confirmed MCs in the Cobalt Empire is really driving my ranking here.

Rose - she's the best big sister (even though Lily is my favorite Calloway sister, there's no denying that Rose is the sister everyone would want to have their back - and I think Lily would approve of this choice ◡̈) 2. Charlie - I love a soft boy hidden behind a hard exterior and that screams Charlie to me. I feel like he's the best combination of Rose, Connor, and Lo. Can't wait to be in his head 3. Jane - Runner up for best big sister, after her mom. She's just so loving and always there for everyone she cares about. I also adore her love story with Thatcher!

My number one book character out of every book I've read is always and forever Rose. I have never been impacted so much by a book character. I relate to her so much, and she truly made me realize that my blunt personality is what makes me me, and the people that love me will be able to handle it. Also, the OCD representation she has is so amazing, I love seeing someone else deal with those kinds of things. Also, we have very similar taste in classic literature so that's a bonus. My number two would most likely be Connor because being in his brain is extremely fascinating. Third would be Beckett, I simply adore him and I don't know that I could pinpoint exactly why I love him so much, but he is incredibly written.

This question is kind of difficult for me because the Cobalts are all my favorite characters, but if it’s only the second generation: Charlie, Beckett, Eliot, with their parents: Charlie, Rose, Beckett; Eliot and Connor are tied for fourth place. But I also love Jane, Tom, Ben, and Audrey 🫶🏻 Charlie took that spot in my heart after that scene in Some Kind of Perfect when he chose to walk backwards, but he was still worried about leaving Beckett.

I love all of them, of course, but I think I’d have to say it’s Eliot, Charlie, Connor So Eliot has fascinated me since SKOP and every little bit I get of him makes me love him even more… I really want to know if what we see is part of an “act” from him or if that is his authentic, constantly true self… like I know he was dramatic and over the top when he was a child but did that just extend into teenage/adulthood because it’s the role he assumed in the family and loved the attention in part? Yes yes he’s innately like that (i know I know) but is a part of him just so much deeper than he appears and is he less dramatic all the time inside but always pushes that out to the forefront? It seems like he often does it to take the spotlight off someone in his family that is struggling and redirect the moment to humor out of love for them and to ease the tense moment with dramatics - kinda like a laugh instead of cry thing - and I’m just soooo fascinated to see what’s inside his head!! Is it constantly chaotic or he is more methodical in when and why he chooses the dramatics? Is it middle child syndrome and he sought attention at a young age and received it from his antics and so it’s in his head like that’s the only way to get attention which lead him to his career? He’s just one of the characters I’ve ALWAYS wanted to know more about (his dyslexia! How he feels about his brothers/sisters! How he relates to his parents!) and I believe he’s soooo much more complex than everyone sees so I’m SOO excited for his book and to be in his mind to get my questions answered 💙🎭

Oh my God I love this question!! 🩷 Eliot has been my number one since SKOP!! I really enjoyed reading about his journey with dyslexia because I could really relate it, so I loved seeing that representation!! And throughout the Like Us series he’s stayed consistently at the top of my list!! I love his loyalty and dramatics and his love how his family. We also have a shared love of Shakespeare + Poe :) Tom is definitely my number two!! I love him (and his love for PB ) soooo much!! Such a fun question!! 😍 1. Connor - Duh, he's iconic and is the character who TO THIS DAY has the best quote from probably any book I've ever read. "Broken souls are mended every day by mended souls that were once broken" -Fuel the Fire 🔥🌟 2. Beckett - I'm going off of only what we know right now, but I love that he mirrors Rose in so many ways. I also did ballet until I graduated high school so I LOVE that element of his character. He also seems really petty sometimes (in the nicest way possible!), so I can really relate to him there! 🤣🤣 3. Jane - I LOVE that she marches to the beat of her own drum, and that everyone in her family passionately supports her doing so. She's just such an interesting combination of traits of Connor and Rose, but also such a huge part of her character and personality is how close she is to Moffy? I just love her! 😍

I am excited af to read his book soon! I think he's going to be a much more dynamic character than I expected. Truthfully, before NLU I think I saw him more from Charlie's perspective: annoying naïve baby whiner 🫢 but obviously you can't judge someone—especially not from someone else's perspective! So I can't wait to read his POV! He might steal my bronze from Eliot!

I’m going to pretend as though Rose + Connor are ineligible for this for my own peace of mind because ranking their children is already difficult enough for me to accomplish lol. (I’m so sorry for cheating, Coballoway. Please forgive me. 😭) —— 𝐌𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐭 𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠: 1. Tom (no one is surprised by this ranking lol ☠️). 2. Jane (cat lovers unite 🐈‍⬛)! 3. Eliot (he is too iconic, it would be a travesty to not include him on this list 🎭). —— Tom is my favorite Cobalt for an abundance of reasons! :) • I am a big fan of music + bands, and I love that Tom is 𝘀𝗼 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 about what he does and the things that he creates! While I assume that his struggles with perfectionism will be something that he’ll likely have to grapple with in the future, I do find that aspect of his character relatable as well (unfortunately for me, I guess lol). That scene in “Charming Like Us” of Jack observing the disagreement between Tom + Charlie + Warner tugs at my heart strings every time that I think about it. :( • It was mentioned in an older podcast that Tom’s favorite food is “peanut butter” which is (once again) relatable. I am a peanut butter fanatic, to the point where I have contemplated whether or not I would be able to marry someone that was allergic to peanuts (and I came to the conclusion that I would not be able to do it 😭). • Tom having to deal with a multitude of unrequited crushes has just made me 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 for his eventual romance. I can’t wait for someone to surprise him & knock him off of his feet one day (he deserves it)! ♡ There are a lot of other things that I love about his character as well, but I don’t want to ramble too much, so I will save those for another time! :) —— I was re-listening to the “Monthly Podcast #19: The Troublemakers - Tom & Eliot + Luna” podcast episode, and it was mentioned in that episode that Tom had a nose piercing! I was wondering if he still has his nose pierced / occasionally wears nose rings? What kind of piercing did/does he have (placement-wise)? 👀 —— I also wanted to mention that the SKOP bonuses were 𝗽𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗹! I loved all three of them! 🥹 I hope you both have a fabulous weekend! Jane - Relatable, hilarious, inspiring the way she talks and dresses and thinks and I love everything about her 2. Eliot - Hilarious, extremely quotable, super interesting so fun and protective and a troublemaker 3. Beckett/Ben (I can't decide 😭) - beckett because hes so fascinating and chill and determined and I love what he adds to the cobalt dynamic and I loved his realtionship development with donnelly and how hes always the one to comfort his siblings (or jane) and the gym scene in NLU 🫠🫠🫠🔥🔥🔥 I'm SO SO SO SO SO excited for beckett/leo/jo and to explore his head more and alll that and Ben because hes just a sweetheart with a big heart and such viseral almost destructive emotions hes so relatable and sad 😭😭😭 and hes so so interesting how he thinks and dynamic with his brothers is fascinating and I'm DYING to dive into it 4. Charlie - a ridiculously complicated man but I love him anyway and I feel so so much for him hes fascinating too and so unpredictable I'll DIE when we see inside his head his POV will be fascinating 5. Audrey - fascinating and funny and interesting and the youngest cobalt which is an interesting position to explore andd I feel like theres a lot about her we wouldnt expect like she has the sunshine rainbows personality as a front but secretly shes a little darker inside she's definitely going to surprise us when he get her POV and I'm soo interested to see that 6. Tom IM SORRY TOM I LOVE YOU 😭😭😭😭forgive me 😭😭😭😭 - we dont know enough about him for him to be higher than any of the others 😭 I love what he adds to the cobalt dynamic too though and he's one third of our beloved troublemakers so I love him so so much This is 100% subject to change and I'll probably change my mind in an hour 🤣 and I'll definitely miss some reasons too 🤣 On another note 🤣 I'm soooo happy addicted is thriving in the world now fully together 🥹🥹🥹we can share the magic!!

Coming back here as I thought id add to my previous message! It’s just a lovely cheerleading Huzzah statement to reiterate like I’ve said many times before in my previous comments 🌈💙🫶🫶🫶🤝🤩- Leo and Ben’s character journeys (not as a couple I just mean them as independent characters) and the characters I’m most looking forward to reading in the upcoming era! Ben I’ve said before, many times, in previous comments in my essays about how much I find him the most quietly persuasive and compelling character. Leo because he fills that, “song of Achilles” trope in my heart 🥹💙. That, blond “gladiator champion”/competitor in his respective “arena” (ballet) where he’s heralded and at his top. And his one 'Achille's heel' is his soft heart'. That trope that's like "touch him and u die" type of avenging angel. So I can’t wait to read and find out who his Patroclus will be 💞 . In the spirit with my ongoing Greek myths analogies, Let’s just hope Leo won’t turn into 'Icarus' and remain glorious with his own HEA 🫶

I'm so glad you find him as interesting and intriguing as I do C! 🌈 This is why I find Leo one of the most compelling characters in the upcoming KBR Universe. I'm a sucker for Greek mythos (and roman empires yes, yes I think about it a lot haha but I can imagine you do too KBR having just finished the Rome show on HBO!) and I cannot wait to see how Leo's journey will unfold. Ballet being a classical art, lends itself to the analogy which is why I think I often make this connection. On top of his character being simply compelling, he has an air of timeless and competitiveness that reminds me of the age old Herculean hero that stand the test of time. I don't like to prophesies too much bc I love to go in reading things blind (I avoid conspiracies and teasers like the plague!) but I cannot help myself in getting excited to see how he will confront and face crossroads and compare them to the great ancients. If our golden boy will be more likely to pull an Apollo or become Achilles. The thing that makes characters interesting imo is how the deal 'in the complicated'. When they are taken away something they want, or confronted with a problem, do they go red or do they mourn in the quiet and peace? And I think from what little we know of in Leo from the pages of what we've seen, he is a character that has more than what meets the eye. which makes him all the more compelling to see what happens when he splits. We all know the well told romance of Achilles and Patroclus on how they were lovers/friends but also fellows competitors and Patroclus went to the Trojan war just bc his lover was destined for greatness there. He was a supportive bf haha. Achilles was very much following (up until the death of Patroclus) a very, 'healthy' doctrine to war. He fell in line and was excellent. But when Patroclus was killed nameless grief took over Achilles and went genuinely insane with his screams of cry and revenge. He cried so horribly that even his mother Thetis could hear in the depths of the sea and went up to comfort his son. He kept the corpse of his lover in his tent for the entirety of the war as he extracted his revenge that was so bloody it was feral. He slept with Patroclus's corpse, delusional kept it, and threatened anyone who suggested to remove it. He wanted to be buried with him by the time the war was done and made Odysseus swear that he would see this happen. Obv as we know he killed Hector. I remember shivering in class when I was a teen remembering the poem in the Iliad Book 18, that, he said, 'neither food nor drink shall glide down my throat, for as long as he [Patroclus] is mangled in my tent I only crave murder and blood and the rattling of dying'. So will Leo follow the same blood wounded vengeful fate like Achilles? Will he move heaven and earth to go on his own Taylor swift reputation era tour? Or will he be a different drum, one of peace and calm like the story of Apollo? The story of Apollo, as the God of music and dance, prophecies and healing (also God of the Sun, queue the analogy of why I think of Leo for obvious blonde hero reasons :P) fell in love with a mortal man named Hyacinthus who was as well a Spartan warrior prince famous for his beauty and everyone wanted him. men and women, the whole lot! Include the God of the West wind Zephyrus. But Hyacinthus chose Apollo among his many admirers and they had the best romance dude. They would do all kinds of things together like music, dance, archery, they were both extremely sporty (as Leo is!!). But Zephyrus was rotting with jealousy of their romance, that while they were playing archery, he blew Zephyrus's arrow off course and it hit him in the head and killed him. Apollo was obviously inconsolable and mourned his lover and tried to commit su**ide many times hoping to join his lover in death. And bc he was inconsolable, he decided to always remember Hyacinthus by naming the famous flower by him and made music and games after him. And Hyacinthus bloom every spring now. So it will be interesting to see whether Leo will be the type to be bloodthirsty, angry for his love interest or if he is a blonde hero that's more of a mourner? These are the kind of musings I catch myself thinking with Leo.

I love all the connections you’ve managed to make!! 🤩 And I’m the exact same with spoilers and theories , I like to go into a book without knowing anything, especially if it’s with authors I know I love!! Wow, yes I hadn’t even thought of him in relation to Apollo! There’s something about him and this desire for greatness (him and Beckett using each other to push themselves further and further) and competitiveness that gives me the Achilles vibes! I’m also so excited to see how his ex-wife plays into it, maybe there’s be a connection between her and zephyrus with jealousy??? Becca and I really loved Dune! We crawled out of our writing hole to go see it, so it was a much needed break. And the whole thing just kind of blew us away. It's a stunning movie! I haven't read the book, so I don't have much to compare it to. The only thing I didn't really love was the romance. I felt like Timothee and Zendaya had more platonic chemistry than romantic, but that didn't take away from the film at all. VANDERPUMP: Becca has been keeping up with the show a lot more than me. I haven't tuned into this season all that much. Of what she's told me, she thinks it's a boring season lol. So I'm not as invested in trying to watch it. I trust her recs! PODCASTS: Yes, it was really sad when Brian announced he was basically stopping Pop Culture Leftovers, but I understand why. The amount of content he watched for that show was quite nuts. I'm sure it seeped in to a lot of his free time, and he'd been doing it for 10 years so he was burnt out. I respect the fact that he put it on hold to live his life, especially since he has a full-time job outside of the pod. I do miss it a lot though! ANIMATIONS: Yesssss, I also loved Elemental! I feel like that one is super underrated. I need to check out Blue Eye Samurai! I know you mentioned it before. LONE STAR: Becca caught up on it! She loves that show.
