I love the story development, but the anticipation is killing me!!

Agreed. I like the interconnected stories, but seeing no expansion in over 20 pages is kind of breaking my spirits for staying subscribed...

The subtle panel of 1 door being taken down and a set of double doors being put up is a nice touch

What about the super weight gaining "lucky customer?" She was recent.

Eric Stiggy

I guess I mean in terms of more progressive expansion, where we see every pound the girl gained basically. Opik did it very well paced and immaculately with Pick don't eat and the soda comic. The expansion was quick (around page 5 ish for both) and precise. There is the super Wg girl here, but that was off screen, showing up fat in a future shot. Which isn't quite the same for me. I love Opik's comics, but the anticipation for WG from the protagonist is just too much now, I can only hang on for another month without barely any :/

I have to agree. I loved the very clear process in PDE, but there doesn’t seem to be that in WC right now. And that’s not to say I’m not continually blown away by this — I think it has the potential to be the greatest expansion comic of all time, and I’m glad to see someone finally do a “slow burn” WG comic... Present-me just wishes there was a little more WG in our protagonist at the moment. That said, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we’ll see Carrie progress upward while wearing her work outfit — that would be so many different shades of amazing. And that’s the thought that’s going to keep me subscribed.

Have the mascots been getting chunkier, too?

I am loving everything about Whacky Candy. I’m personally cool with the pacing. The first two comics kind of unspooled the mystery and this one is beginning to definitively tie the pieces together and move the story forward as a whole. Not sure Carrie is going to turn out to be the one who gains a ton in this comic - she could be more of the Suzy role. Especially now that she has sort of a heads up on what the candy can do. But a multi-part

... comic featuring blueberry, inflation, and weight gain and has a great story developing? I think it’s amazing.
