Probably between 6 months to a year to also account for Carol ending up there and the months Carrie worked at the store since it took time for all those women to blimp up some faster then others but if I remember WC1 ended just after the holidays with it being winter, but who knows how long Carrie’s been in there since her arrival

Oh I figured it out , the loompeletes are aliens and their making food that is both addictive and fattening . Turn the human race into candy so that they can harvest the planet / dominate the world . Nailed it !
