I still think it’s because Katie botched the process by moving too fast on Carrie and not winning her over mentally. Also because I think Carrie hasn’t found the right thing she’s addicted too like Sour Patch kids

Spinoff idea, some mad scientist has gotten a hold of a group of rogue loompettes and while they fatten her up, she’s experimenting on how to make them able to not explode after exposure

Perhaps that's part of why they wear the suits. To make sure they can handle the food without exploding. That is an interesting idea, someone working to give the loompettes immunity to the candy
