Also now for the Pell situation: Oda only has one fatal flaw in his writing you’ll come to find and he’s said it publicly that he knows he does it and he even hates it about himself. It all starts with this Pell moment. When Pell was alive after that direct nuke to the face everyone and I mean EVERYONE in the OP community was in an uproar. Faking out death for really impactful emotional kills the original feeling of the death. That’s why I messaged you about avoiding YT comments because the risk of spoiling Pell still being alive. I knw this is an older video, but about Pell's "death." I don't know if its been mentioned, but its a theory that the fakeout was something Oda changed after the fact. I couldn't find any solid proof, so it's just fandom theory as far as I know. But it's believed that the events of September 11 impacted Oda's decision to bring Pell back. Considering the chapter released in November of 2001, the timeline tracks.
