SHOCKING REVEALS! AMPHIBIAN HEART THROBS! INDIVIDUALS WHO MAY OR MAY NOT BE GREEN!

Season 3 of this show continues its generational run by putting out two more AMAZING episodes back-to-back. On the one hand, we have a slightly silly romp about teen love and truly horrific parental gaslighting. On the other, we have an insane power display and endless reveals with countless ramifications for the rest of the series. Guess which one we spend more time on.

As always, if you like this series consider joining the discord for more updates!

Nikhil it is 2:00 am for me right now, but I’m still willing to sacrifice my sleep for beating early/on time for this series

Mr. Botany

Perfect timing now i have something to watch on my lunch break

Ella

Kitty was so insensitive there, she shares a room with rouge so there is no way she didn’t know about rouge’s feelings

Honestly this might be the second most villainous Magneto after the Ultimate version. Admittedly that is still a big gap.

HungryWinner

Also yes I remember squash being big in the 90s and early 00s as like a health sport

Magneto in this show is really strange, he's probably the only version of the character in animation that is genuinely evil

Scott Crawford

I really hope that after you finish this show, you keep going with other X-Men shows

Cat Lawyer

I love the T.O.A.D. song. Idk if it was legit or fan made but there was a full version of the rap and it was a banger. Also, love that animation when Rogue is switching between characters and the camera is going 360. That might be best animated sequence in the entire show.

Curt Clark

Self Possessed is my absolute favorite episode of this show. I also admit to being a HUGE fan of Claremont's X-Treme X-Men era Rogue, who was randomly manifesting powers she'd previously absorbed in a manner much like that episode. It feels like a direct callout and refutation of the powerless movie Rogue in a way that's so specifically 2000s-era petty. Plus it's fun as hell to see her just absolutely wreck shop with everyone's abilities at once. I think Evolution Magneto is a fantastic way to write Magneto as a sympathetic villain who is still unquestionably evil. Mastermind rewriting Wanda's whole history like that was agonizing to watch, and AFAIK it never gets undone, she stays a Daddy's Girl for the rest of the show's run. It's almost a comics-Xavier level disregard for her free will and autonomy, and he did it for reasons that are both understandable (regret for how he handled the situation) and ruthlessly pragmatic (in fairness, she DID try to kill him).

Curt Clark

I believe he's said Wolverine and the X-Men is next on the docket.

Curt Clark

Magnificently written as well, I get why he made the call he did even as I find it absolutely unconscionable.

Curt Clark

They managed to do this while keeping him somewhat sympathetic...this was some comics Xavier shit, but Magneto committed an atrocious act for reasons I actually understand.

june egbert

the things is...does toad KNOW she was brainwashed? she can't remember, but does he know what mastermind even does? for all he knows, she DID get over it.

Bailee

Kitty even talks to rouge about her crush in the dance episode. But it's so teenage mindset to be focused on teasing one friend you forget the other friend has a crush too and be unintentionally insensitive

Golden Reaper

Am I the only one who had to look up squash was?

Star Ringer

Something I really appreciate about Rogue wrecking everyone with their own powers is that they're ALL holding back, whereas she's got not only the headspace of how they use their powers, but in this episode specifically, Mama Machiavelli's is at the forefront. Regardless of her own feelings, Rogue's mainlining the same petty hate that dropped Scott in the desert to die AND stuck around to mess with him, while ALSO feeling all the rage and betrayal from learning the truth about Risty AND that Mystique has been tap-dancing back and forth between caring for Rogue and abandoning her while also using her.

Star Ringer

Also I just put the image of Mystique gleefully tap-dancing in the background while Rogue is angsting in the foreground into my own head and I can't stop laughing.

Dezmond Smith

My college had a random area for playing Squash and my friends and I played that shit every weekend. Actually pretty fun lol

Sarah Kochera

THIS IS WHY I KEEP SAYING THAT IF IT WERENT FOR THE FACTION DIVIDE THAT TODD (toad) AND KURT (nightcrawler) WOULDA BEEN BESTIES!

Archaeolinguist

I love that the house that canonically belonged to Mystique just keeps getting more run down by these idiots XD

Lincoln Ostash

squash is a fruit I think or a vegitable
