The time has come, after two seasons of teasing, APOCALYPSE IS HERE...kinda.

Sure, he may be more of a glorified macguffin but don't worry this episode still has all the dramatic weight you'd expect after S2 blew everything out of the water.

We're talking Gambit third-wheeling the wolvebros and....other things....probably.

Oh, Storm actually does stuff. So, that's neat.

Honestly, it's kind of a testament to this show's ability to grow and change that we have managed to leave the procedural model behind so completely that even two-part season finales are just stepping stones towards a larger plot. I just hope the people behind the show know how few steps they have left...

Jokes aside, it's a solid set-up for another big bad and promises a really fun and intriguing version of Apocalypse...I just wish we'd actually gotten to see it.

the order of the season 3 and 4 episodes is weird looking back on it. As a kid I def thought it was just all one season unlike the def definate gap between seasons 1, 2 and 3 in my memory.

This finale brought 3 of my favorite things in this show. 1: Rogue going around and snatching the powers of everybody we know was super sick and kinda eerie. 2: Colossus Rogue, and 3: Black leggings and green partially unzipped hoodie Rogue

I was actually completely sold on Evolution Apocalypse in a way no other version of the character could convey, largely because of this episode. He didn't even break 'stride' (as much of a stride as you can get when you're hovering) to take out all of the most powerful mutants available. It felt like a condensed, souped-up version of Scarlet Witch's introduction. Season 4 was criminally short but I'm happy we got the payoff for this at least. And hey, Ghost of a Chance is still coming!

Before. Emma showed him he could do a whole awful lot with ice in the 90s, but even as recently as the early 2010s, the AoA variant could be killed by having his head shoved in a furnace with no moisture to manipulate.

I think Wolverine and the X-Men is next after this, but I do think he'd enjoy that one as well. It wasn't for me, but that's just because B:TAS was my Batman.

maybe you could watch Wolverine and the X-Men next, it's the spiritual successor to xmen evolution, it is not as good, but it might be interesting to juxtapose them and see what is and isn't different, like there are characters in that show that are DEFINITELY only there because they were in xmen evolution
