A pose can mean the difference between an eye catching image or something that looks like a standard portrait. I will often ask a model to contort into some uncomfortable pose because that often makes thing look interesting. Putting them on the floor and having the camera at that same level can be more captivating. I like to plan a few off the wall poses ahead of time to be prepared.
