Of course the model Tessa is beautiful and super to work with. No complaints with her ever. When I look through to find images to edit and publish online I look at different things than a model looks at when she does so to find images for her personal use. The model wants images that show her best features and looks. As a photographer I want to week out the ones with mistakes that bug me. But if these mistakes aren't too bad I'll let the model have the image if there's not another one almost like it without the issues. This image is an example. I should have noticed the overhead light reflecting in the glass frame behind her head and repositioned to get rid of it or if the pose was important to me turned off the overhead light since the fixture wouldn't show in the image anyway. And the window to the right bothers me a bit. It would be fine if I had pulled the curtain over just enough to hide the bright blinds. Remember, the viewers eyes will go straight to the brightest part of an image. So that bright area is a distraction. I cropped this square format which I think worked best. I could have left if full with both windows showing to balance it out. But when I look at the full shot I see that there is a lamp on each side of the bed and while they match they have bulbs balanced for different color temperatures. So I went with the square.
Still it's not a bad image because beautiful Tessa is sitting there and most people are just going to see her anyway. And this is more of a glamour image, not a fine art piece. Nah, that's not a good excuse for not getting it right. I need to do better every time I push the button.
