This is from yesterday's trip into the Gulf to a small island with Tessa and Kailee. It's always hell to shoot in bright, harsh, midday sun. I often pose someone with their face to the sky to deal with all the harsh shadows that would show up otherwise. This day I also used a flash and a VND (variable neutral density) filter. For most times the filter was set at maximum density and it is a 2 - 6 stop filter. Using a ND filter helps keep the shutter speed to a setting that keeps me from going in to HSS mode on the flash.

Nikon Z7II with a Nikon 24 - 70mm f/2.8 lens. An off camera flash was used.
