#1 - they obviously can't understand each other. Commander doesn't speak a word of English :) 

#2 - Drew thinks he's gonna get abducted for SURE this time.

#3 - The Bastil have a very intense need to protect children/babies. This comes from them having VERY FEW in their race. So Commander Nova is feeling a bit TRIGGERED right now. He's gonna mom Drew so hard. 

#4 - Drew is an adult but Commander has never seen a live Human-- "This is what Human children look like right???"

#5 - He's trying to wipe Drew's freckles off.
