Just to be clear-- Luca has NEVER taken energy from a Human directly before. The Humans they abduct and bring back to their planet are sapped of their energy and turned into pills that the aliens take to survive. This kind of exchange USUALLY only happens between Alien to Alien. (Because an Alien can take another aliens energy just as they can humans.) 

To put it simply-- this is rather intimate. Right now, Luca is feeling everything that Drew is feeling. He's feeling everything that Drew IS. His whole essence and being.
