Something we will see much later in the comic-- but when Bastil die their bodies turn into energy and they are physically gone forever-- no such burial grounds or anything. That, unfortunately, doesnt give much closure to the people grieving now does it? Where does the Energy go? Is it gone forever? Does it still exist? Was it even real to begin with? 

So Commander probably went a little off the depend in those three days after Lola died, and he found Luca in the forbiddon grounds. Having hallucinations of Lola. Going mad. Losing himself.
