Eh, there's different types of poetry. I wouldn't call Fiona's type of poetry my favorite, lol. Sure, it's poetry, but it's no shakespeare style, or Robert Frost. It's more along the lines of like an E. E. Cummings, lol. Although I do love "anyone lived in a pretty how town"! Also, let's be fair here - all songs are poems! They use rhyme, rhythm, meter, stanzas (chorus and verses are stanzas!), imagery, metaphor, repetition, inclusios sometimes (Taylor does this a lot! So does Leonard Cohen), etc. They are all just different types. Some are more structured, and others are more free-form. My biggest problem with Fiona's poetry is that it's way too abstract! Hence my comparison with some of E. E. Cummings' more experimental poems. Fiona's poetry is like if you took cubism in painting and applied it to poetry, lol. P.S. The term lyrics, which we now apply to songs, originates from the "lyric poem" - a poem of personal expression and inner thoughts and feelings, spoken in the first person. As you can see, songs are lyric poems! That's where they originate! And lyric poems are one of the earliest forms of literature, along with the epic poem and the dramatic poem (which is what shakespeare uses, btw).
