This came out pretty quickly on the heels of Hard to Swallow #2. At the time, I was enamored with the idea of putting out 2 comics a year... but I was also tattooing pretty regularly and had to rush through to make this in time for A.P.E. that year... and it shows. This is rough. There's a lot I like about it, but the sloppiness of the line-work makes me cringe a bit. Nice to see that you've definitely improved over a ten year span, tho.

One thing I really wanted to do with this opener was show the Ghost Skater doing skateboarding tricks that only a ghost could do... such as skating through solid objects and having the board pass through him. I don't feel I was really successful with this, which is why later stunts have involved defying gravity, rather than non-corporeal stuff.

Dave, you may be your own worst critic - sure, it might be a little rough around the edges, but Mitch's ghostly skateboarding tricks and pass-throughs bring joy to my heart. And it's got the word "tachyon" in it! Now about the lettering lol...

Thanks! Yea, I was doing EVERYTHING with the same sized brush pen at this point, which means everything is as chunky and sloppy as everything else!

I have to agree that the rough line work is not a problem. I rather enjoy the texture and ease of this quite a lot.

Well thanks. Guess it works better here than in the next story i did for hard to swallow which had a few pages that stood out as far more polished.
