Long Overdue Shop Update. (Patreon)

I feel like at this point all of my posts just start by default with "sorry for taking so long" haha. I've been busy.I guess we'll start off just with all the photos of getting up to date with the Stagea, finishing off the widebody moulds and making and fitting the completed over fenders.
I'm about a month late uploading this but hey, still quicker than I've been posting to Instagram haha.So that catches us up with the last Stagea episode, then as I mentioned I've been busy with a lot of other projects on the side, some of which I decided to film and turn into the fiberglass basics series that I'm just starting. I don't expect the series to be a big thing, it's really just there to give me a separate place to drop all of my fiberglass tips so that I don't have to keep repeating myself in every other video.I did grab a couple pictures of making the lip along with a few of the other small projects I've been working on in the background in addition to the Stagea stuff.
As well as the lip I've been making this lower dash / gauge cluster piece for a Mk2 Ford Escort. A friend of mine races them and needed a replacement that he could fit with different gauges.
Designing this was fun. I actually took my 3D scanner in to his workshop and scanned the existing dash so I could design the whole piece in CAD. This was my first project actually designing a 3D model to fit an existing piece and so I 3D printed a prototype, made the changes I had to and then once I had it fitting well enough I put together a mould for it so we can make a few copies and hopefully sell a couple to other guys at the track.
The other small random side project I've been working on has been the indicator deletes for the Rx7 bumper. In my original sketch I have these cover plates that go over the indicators and fill in the holes.
And so to fill these in, I figured rather than just pour in some expanding foam and shape them on the car, I wanted to test out the 3D printing approach again so I found an FD Rx7 3D model online, trimmed just the indicator off it and place it over my scan I had of the Rx7 bumper until it was the correct scale.
The model was really low poly and honestly I was tempted to leave it as is because it would be a funny call back to Cyberpunk 2077's early release and the graphical issues, but decided in the end to save that idea on the back burner and just made this one smooth.
I made it deliberately a little bigger than it should be so I could trim it down, but for some reason after putting it on the car I wasn't really feeling it, so I'm going to sit on this a little longer while I figure out what I want to do.Last thing for this update before we move on to the fun new stuff in the upcoming episode. The widebody that we finished making in the last episode didn't have time to get fitted so between that episode and the next one I did get it all bolted up and so here a few sneak peaks at that.
Only one piece left to make and then the kit is done and ready to put up for sale on my website.I will probably have another one of these post updates before I drop the next video, I'm cutting it close to the upload deadline for YouTube and I've got no buffer before I leave for a small trip so there probably wont be a huge difference in when it goes up here vs when it goes up in HD, ad-riddled glory over on YouTube.
