Making a Shark Fin Spoiler! Cyberpunk Miata Build: Part 5
In this video I make the last and definitely most controversial (for now) change to the roof on this MX5.
A shark fin spoiler or "vertical stabilizer" is something that you'll find more commonly on ridiculously high end supercars and things like F1 and Le Mans race cars. In theory, when it's designed properly the fin helps reduce drag and reduces body roll in hard cornering, improving speed and handling. In my case, it probably does none of that but looks cool as h*ck.
I know that some of you are probably thinking that the car looked better or cleaner before hand, and on a regular Mx5 I might agree, but I'm going to need you to trust the vision for this car. It's going to look like a complete mess for a little bit until it all comes together.
With this final bit of fiberglass work done the roof is finally ready for sanding and filling and then finally paint. The body work for this is probably going to take a while so it might mean the body work and paint is broken into 2 parts to try and get a video up for you guys every 2 weeks.
For now though, enjoy watching me transform my Miata into a cute lovable shark.
