What they should have done in Space Jam 2 instead of "Erasing" him. I will never understand the hypocrisy, Get rid of Pepe le Pew but keep Alex as a cameo from A Clockwork Orange. One is clearly worse than the other.

And then she catches a whiff of him and runs again. Because what people fail to understand is that she likes him, it's the stink strong enough to insta-kill plant life that she's running from. :V

Even then though, they'd be 100% failing to understand the joke. Penelope is running from Pepe's stink, not him. This is illustrated every time she's left unable to smell him and is suddenly the one chasing him around. In some cartoons, she's even very receptive to his initial displays of affection...until his stink inevitably wafts by her nose. Hell, for years, official merchandise even portrayed them as a happy couple. But nah, let's completely erase and blacklist him because people took a Dave Chapelle bit seriously and people nowadays think everything qualifies as rape, another wonderful decision from the people who brought you "Speedy Gonzales is hated by white people offended on behalf of Mexicans, so he's out" and "We've made Lola flat-chested, butterfaced, ineffectual arm decor for Bugs because the director of this movie was disgusted by her mere presence in the first one, now it's okay to like her--you're welcome, ladies!"

Treating fiction as reality is unfortunately the norm these days. And then those same people proceed to not care about actual people and think harmful actions towards real humans don't mean anything or are just harmless jokes.
