Hey everyone,

We wanted to share a bit of context behind the latest Valentine event.

We’ve always enjoyed seasonal events in games, spicy or not. There’s something special about a celebration leaking into the world of a game. It makes everything feel festive and alive. We wanted Twiwood Tales to have that same energy.

The idea for this event came from recent feedback. A lot of players mentioned feeling attached to Foxy after interacting with her through the Wheel of Fortune. We liked that connection and wanted to build on it by giving players a way to express something back.

Some people might wonder why we spend time on seasonal content instead of focusing purely on the road to 1.0. The honest answer is that we’re growing the game horizontally, not vertically. There’s a huge amount still to build, but we want the world to feel rich and layered instead of linear. Seasonal slices help make Twiwood feel alive rather than segmented.

During late development we decided the event should leave something behind after it ends. That’s why we introduced the quest system here. This isn’t just a one-off event, it’s infrastructure we’ll keep expanding. The rock-paper-scissors minigame with Foxy is small, but it mixes gameplay, rewards, and a bit of spice. It’s also one of the first places where the LCK stat meaningfully affects outcomes by improving potion drops.

Originally the Valentine's event was much bigger. We planned longer quest chains, enemy-specific chocolate drops, boss exclusives, and higher collection requirements. After balancing and playtesting, we scaled it back to something fair and achievable - 14 items of each, matching the date theme.

We chose Foxy’s area because it’s her home, and because this event became a test bed for the new quest system. It feels like the missing piece we needed to start telling character-driven stories properly. Early signs suggest it was the right call.

When designing the final scene, we wanted it to feel romantic and earned. Valentine’s is about affection, and Ron worked to impress Foxy. The payoff needed to feel intimate and special.

This event is small compared to what’s coming, but it represents a direction shift: more character moments, more systems supporting story, and more playful interactions layered into the world.

Thanks for being here while we experiment and build. These seasonal updates help shape the bigger future of Twiwood.
