You're right Megan. A few years before Father Ted aired, Ireland kept winning Eurovision so then had to host it the following year, and there were many rumours at the time that they started to submit rubbish songs so that they wouldn't have to host the bloody thing again!

This is considered one of, if not the best episode of Father Ted. You can totally see why. 🎵Take this lump of sugar baby you know you want it🎵 Ted's definetly done some questionable things "That money was just resting in my account."😂

ahh I didn't know that specifically happened in Ireland! I just heard that it happened at Eurovision. Well now I know what the episode is based off of. Hilarious! 😂

Yeah they were cursed by a combination of a rich musical heritage and the fact that pretty much the whole of Europe loves the Irish. (Shout out to Ireland!).
