A miser is an old term for someone tight with their money, an old term rather than a British term. It was used when I was young in New Zealand

Yea "miser" is a term for being tight with money, but can also be useed for other things. Like a poor buffet at a wedding or going to a charity shop for clothes, etc. So yea, it is about money but not necessary about hard actual cash, not just someone not lending you a £5. Great reaction Megan

Miser isn’t slang, just an old word. These days it’s probably best known from “A Christmas Carol” where Scrooge is referred to as a miser The adjective miserly also exists.

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it 😊
