Fun fact. Al Murray officially stood (in the guise of the Pub Landlord) in the South Thanet constituency in the 2015 general election! He recently did a podcast with Count Binface (another political hero who ran in the London mayoral election). I wouldn’t recommend it as a reaction as it’s audio only, but worth checking out in your spare time if you’re interested. They both play ridiculous characters but are actually very intelligent people who have some interesting things to say about UK politics and democracy!

Al did a uni talk/lecture about his experience with this. It's on youtube "Making a Mockery of Democracy". Well worth the watch, actually. He shows some of the funny things he said/did for the "campaign". It's funny that some of his manifesto stuff was not so dissimilar to the proper parties' points!
