A flying Jew is certainly a rarity😄Oh it's definitely WWI, Chaplin was starting his career from at least 1914/1915... thanks wikipedia haha

SnabbKassa

It is World War One. They are in trenches somewhere near Reims, circa 1917

MeganRuth

Ahh ok! I thought he was more popular in the 1920s. That’s good to know!

William

It is World War 1 Megan, great reaction

This episode just reminds me that this final series is probably the best out of all the Blackadder episodes. So funny! 😂😂😂 That 'Darling' running gag never fails to amuse me haha. Can you remember Bob from series 2? There's another familiar face appearing next ep, though I'm not telling you who 😁

MeganRuth

It’s such a great gag! 😂 yes I think so! Wasn’t she in the first episode of series 2?

Anderson Davies

Chaplin started his succes in 1914/1915 and Keaton in summer 1917. In WW2 there were no real trenches, as the tanks would have simply run over them, I guess ;) And who knows what the planes dropping bombs might have done to them.
