And they were closed down the next day lol...enjoy the play! Is that one I've been hearing about, being written by Cleese and his daughter?

Great reaction Megan and I really hope you enjoy the show tomorrow. Years ago, I am going back to the late 80's / early 90's (High school days :P) I had the scrip book and with family we acted out the episodes. I hope you enjoyed every minute of your Fawlty Towers journey. Just thinking how John Cleese was in two shows that for me were the best in the decade there were in with Monty Pyhon and Fawlty Towers.

Was saving this lil nugget of info for this episode, because I love his performance in this one. I came across the actor who played the Major (Ballard Berkeley), in an adaptation of 'Hound of the Baskervilles' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uhuVXxzGmTo which I watched about 2 years ago, had no idea that he was such a serious actor, only thing I've seen him in outside of FW. He plays Sir Charles Baskerville so he's only around for the first few mins lol, but it really blew my mind at the time! Well worth watching in it's own right too, good little show. Also the 1st time that the actor Peter Cushing had done the role since 1959, and he plays Sherlock Holmes so well. Have always enjoyed Terry the chef (Brian Hall) in this 1 series too, I've come across him in a few things as well, usually playing a gangster or something similar haha

That's cool, I actually picked up a copy of that at a bookshop few years ago. With my family, I can remember we used to do play performances to pass the time when we were camping, haven't done that in years.

Was saving this one for the final ep too - John Cleese on The Muppet Show https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9P4jhzbg3pE "Right, I'm leaving." "Whoa, John, whoa, what's the matter?" "Kermit I am not gonna do some cloth-eared Mexican maraca solo!!" 😂 The entirety of TMS was actually made over here, in London. As ATV was the only company who'd take them at the time, managed to bash out a good couple of series. Watched a really good documentary about Jim Henson on Disney+ recently, highly recommend

I bet you and your fella will be a bit apprehensive now if you book a B&B or Hotel down in Torquay. 😊 Great reaction Megan. On another note, I have heard on the news that Canada is going to become the 51st state of the USA, is this correct? 😊

MeganRuth

thanks David! I certainly have enjoyed every moment! Ohh that sounds fun! Those must be some amazing memories for you 😊 Yes it seems John Cleese ruled the 70s!

MeganRuth

😂 I LOVE it! Thanks for sharing! I had no idea TMS was made in the UK! That's awesome.

MeganRuth

oh wow! I hardly recognised him! So interesting. It's so fun spotting actors from a show you love elsewhere! Thanks Brodie! :)

😂 I'd say so!! In honestly, it has made me want to visit Torquay! Thank you! And most definitely not. Over my dead body!
