Hey guys! Bit of a different video tonight. Alanna's video caught my eye a few week's ago so I thought I'd make a reaction to it to put in my two cents! (Or is it two pence?)

Canadian inception. What if she reacts to your reaction

MeganRuth

that would be multi inception!!!

Sorry you both have had a hard time from idiots Americans are usually very nice, but often they don't have a sense of humour. Canadians seem closer to Brits with joking about everything.

MeganRuth

It's alright! There are way more nice people than idiots, thankfully. I'd actually argue Canadians share a bit more of the US' sense a humour. From my observation, anyway :)

People who say stuff like "you're the right type of immigrant" (and genuinely think they're paying you a compliment!), and then come out with stuff like "if you don't agree with me then go back home", pretty much sums up the stereotypical British racist. Sorry that you and Alanna have had to put up with this crap.

My one experience of being in a pub in Canada was walking to the bar, and the barman (who must have heard my British accent) very clearly stating that tipping is NOT optional even if just buying a drink. I mean, I kind of get it, they rely on tips to live, and must be used to Brits not tipping, but at the same time I thought "what a lovely welcome!". (Gotta say though that was the only negative of my trip to Canada, beautiful country and cracking people!).

My friend from Barrie tells me about how expensive cable, broadband and mobile phones are. We get a lot for our money in the UK and don't realise what we have compared to north America in general.

MeganRuth

yes I forgot about those! I was shocked at how cheap phone plans are over here when I first moved over.

MeganRuth

yes tipping the bar staff is something I now think is very strange after living here for awhile!
