btw @haylo @kiss, the singers at the end are from Twice (their version of the takedown song) but the actual singers Are Ejae, Audrey and Rae, you should react to their live performance of Golden for patreon exclusive maybe? (pretty please? it's only 3 minutes :D ) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8y-ViyUk7Dk&list=RD8y-ViyUk7Dk&start_radio=1 Ejae's story is amazing, She was training as a kpop idol but by the time she was ready, she was mid 20s and they denied her because "she was too old to debut" , so went into song writing and music instead, and she was hired at first to just write the lyrics and song for the show, but when they heard her demos of her trying to give the artists the "template demo" of what the song will be like, the producers actually realized that "she's rumi" and they made her the lead singer instead and history was made, and now her songs made it to number 1 (golden) and many other entries in top 10 on spotify, apple music, amazon music, broadcasts and all music boards in top 1 for many weeks and they got 1 (maybe 2 now? ) platinums now and her songs beat out reallife artists off the board, and they shattered many records, like the first female group to win certain idols since destiny's child etc. Funny enough the way that the fans upvoted these songs, and listened to them, they made the saja boys Idol song be at the top first (knocking down kpop boy bands like BTS), and then the only song that knocked their song down is the huntrix song knocking them (and blackpink) down, and that effectively made real life mirror the movie! And another note: sony animations team (from spiderverse) made the animation for this movie, but Sony was worried that "kpop + demon hunters" was "too niche" and would underperform in the box office, so they sold it for ~20million dollars for netflix. It hten proceeded to be number 1 on netflix and the best highest grossing movie for nextflix, so much so that netflix released the movie in theaters for ONLY TWO DAYS, and every seat was sold out within a few hours almost worldwide and it made over one BILLION dollars in revenue... i'm betting that the sony execs that are too "old school" like the crappy disney remakes we keep getting, are kicking themselves in the teeth right now for losing their IP to netflix, which is now potentially looking at making sequels and merchandise etc, and make huge profit because the movie and music and actors and singers made something for the art and the FANS, not for the money.

So a couple weeks ago I was having a drink at this local bar and Golden started playing. I was dancing in my seat so much the bartender turned up the volume for me 😆. I have loved K-pop ever since I heard “Me Likely”- Twice, so the soundtrack to this movie was an instantly added to my playlist. Thanks for all the reactions , you guys are golden 💗

I'm so glad I watched this movie without any knowledge about it first. If someone was told me the story, I would be deeply uninterested, it's soooo generic, and almost nothing. But the way they made it, and the music, it's absolute saved it. So now I'm glad I was able to watched it again with you guys.

Kaiju Kes

So glad to see this! You should definitely react to the singers behind Huntrix on Jimmy Fallon. Their interview and the live performance. It's insane how closely each resembles their Huntrix counterpart. <3

bertaunth

probably the funniest fun fact about this movie is that jinu's design was based on the real-life facial features and traits of korean actors Cha Eun‑woo and Nam Joo‑hyuk, two guys who are always on top of polls and rankings for korea's hottest men 😂

Billy Dancel

Yes Huntrix are amazing... Yes the Saja Boys are formidable foes... BUT can we all agree that the stars of the movie were DERPY THE TIGER AND SUSSIE THE MAGPIE!!!!! At the start of "This Is What It Sounds Like" I could see Hayley getting a little glassy eyed and I was right there with her. I'm in the double digits for seeing this movie and it is still so very entertaining. You ladies have until the 30th of October to learn all of the songs because on Halloween weekend the movie will be coming back to the theaters for another sing along!!! Now, I will be watching this all over again!! Not even kidding.

HeartlandHunny

So glad y'all did a reaction for this movie! As soon as I saw you'd posted it, I watched it. Love this movie!!

Hawk Flame

This was such a fun reaction you guys! A fantastic way of spending 90 minutes, just watching the movie again alongside you. By the way, the singers in the end credits behind the scenes footage, Twice, only did the end credits version of Takedown, but they do have their own original song on the soundtrack. It’s called “Strategy”, and it’s what plays when they just got back to their apartment after the concert (when Rumi is selecting their outfits for the new promo).

Dobbs

I’m amazed they went so long without hearing at least Golden or Takedown. Seems like I hear them everywhere.

Carl Rigney

Thank you for a very fun reaction to a very fun movie!

Zana

im still stuck with this movie and glad that u guys love it

The most watched Netflix movie in History of Netflix! WTG girls! Such an amazing movie, gonna be hard to top on the 2nd one. The Honmoon they created was not gold because they made a new one that doesn't have to be golden, that's why the Tiger (Who is Rumi's pet now) is still on the human side.

LucidDreamWolf88

I read the thing. But I’m still not exactly quite sure how to see the video and reaction?

LucidDreamWolf88

Since I’ve never watched a reaction in the way they said to do it befire

"What is this?" as the movie starts This, is what all those out of touch Hollywood and other studios have been failing at xD CINEMA. And by far one of the best coming out/accepting yourself stories.

christian875

I subscribed just to watch yall's full reaction :-)

Precisely. In fact, I wonder if all the previous hunters had also been striving to turn it gold, and found themselves failing just like Huntr/x did, implicitly proving that we can never be perfect. Also, if you remember, the song Golden represented them Huntr/x turning it gold, but they never actually get to finish the song. They keep getting interrupted. Very symbolic of the "Golden Honmoon" being unattainable. But the new honmoon is different. It'll be neat to see how. I wonder if, based on Rumi's better understanding of demons and her desire to help set them free when possible (some demons are probably too far gone to redeem), if the new honmoon is based more on forgiveness and understanding, selectively letting demons through that seek repentance and forgiveness, and turn away from the lives that made them demons in the first place. That would be cool.

As crazy as the doctor sounded on my first few watches, he actually makes so much sense. To heal a part, we must understand a whole. Focusing on one part leads to ignoring other parts. The second time he mentions the "whole" his hands are surrounding all 3, not just Rumi. Very accurate. Rumi grew up with Celine always telling her to cover up, and not giving her a chance to accept who she was. Rumi was forced to keep it from her best friends, when it was obvious she wanted to tell them. She ignored a part of who she was, which resulted in her shame growing which caused the patterns to grow. We can see from the flashbacks to the current time, she has covered up more because of the patterns growing. The more she covered up, I feel she pulled away more and Zoey and Mira knew it. They tried but they all had stuff they feared and didn't want to ruin the friendship so they never pushed it. After meeting Jinu, we see Rumi start to accept herself and question what she was taught, which is why her voice came back. By the time the truth came out and facing Celine, she finally started to focus on the "whole" and just accept who she was. During "What it sounds like" if you noticed when making the new honmoon, it was rainbow/prismatic instead of blue or gold. All 3 of them came to accept themselves as well as accept each other for all their faults, fixing their friendship. We learn from Celine that they must hide their faults and fears....but I think that's where previous hunters failed. Understanding that faults and fears are perfectly normal, and hiding it only made them weaker.
