Was hoping for MHA since it's got traction with the final season currently running, but it has to be Haikyuu this time. A little vibe switch up would be welcomed, and Death Note is very... polarizing in most of the communities I've followed. And my hot take... Death Note gets pretty overrated because it's a "classic". The story is... ok? The writing is decent. But there's really nothing that I feel makes it special aside from having a very (very) vocal cult following. This is definitely controversial/rude, but the stereotypical anime "nerd" really relates to the main character(s), with their smug superiority and "I'm smarter than everyone else" personalities. I'm not saying that anime watchers are like that in general, obviously, but that there is definitely a subset of anime fans that embody that personality, and it often makes those comment sections in other reaction communities I follow a bit hostile. Hoping Haikyuu can pull out the win so we get the warm happy community feels instead xD

If you're looking for a unique anime with mystery, intelligence and strong female lead, The Apothecary Diaries is an amazing choice. It's a perfect mix of historical setting, sharp humor and clever problem-solving. Definitely one of the best written anime of recent years.

I'll never really understand the Haikyuu craze. It's not bad by any means, it's definitely a decent light feel good show but it's way too long and gets really repetitive and half of it is just the main character making weird faces and noises. Death Note is amazing although drops off towards the end. I do wish you reacted to more non anime shows though, there are so many amazing ones out there like The Wire that I know you would really get into

I watched Death Note because everyone told me is was cerebral and the characters are all highly intelligent, but I found it boring and the characters incredibly dumb and insufferable. It was such a disappointment to me, but that seems to be a rare opinion. Haikyuu’s much more cleverly written, in my opinion. Death Note will win and I’ll skip it, but hopefully after that we’ll finally get Haikyuu. But at this point, it feels like it will never win.

Regarding the length issue that snowman brought up, they've gotten through about 300 episodes of OP in the past year. It's going to take them about 2-3 more years (at least) to catch up. That's a loooooong time to avoid watching one of the top shows in the reaction space. They've watched more filler content in OP than the entire run time of MHA, if you think about it... Which is pretty disappointing.

Yeah, I do think it's a little weird to put MHA and One Piece in the same category when it comes to length. The fact that it's WAY closer to Haikyuu in episode count than it is to OP despite being twice as long as the former kind of speaks for itself.

Haikyuu or Apothecary would've been nice to see. I remember them getting really excited for the tennis episode from spy family. It'd be nice to see them introduced to new genres/themes. Death Note has a similar vibe to other animes they've watched imo. I feel like they haven't reacted to a single series yet that doesn't have action battle/killing/fantasy/superpower. Haikyuu or Apothecary would be a nice change in scenery/atmosphere. Idk I think it's pretty wild that they won't experience whole genres of anime lol.

Death note’s great but based on how these two reacts, haikyuu should be the obvious choice. In my opinion, these two love character development, friendships, bromance, passion and emotional intelligence. Which haikyuu can offer. Sure death note is great, but let’s not be selfish and consider haylo and kiss’ interests as well. That’s all that I can say.

Lolll they have reacted to many different types of anime that they’ve seemed to enjoy like darker and more psychological ones as well as ones the other side of the spectrum light hearted and wholesome ones! I’ve only seen a few eps of Haikyuu and I agree that they would enjoy it, but I also believe they would enjoy death note too! Don’t forget they will more than likely get to ALL of these shows!!! If haikyuu doesn’t win this time I bet it has a good chance next time! :)))

I probably won't be watching along with this reaction because I never finished Death Note and never cared for it even after the first 5 episodes. I hope you all enjoy it. I'm out on this one. I will just watch along with One Piece for now.

Death note, of course no the first episode but after it’s more more details you can react. others are not the same but a little similar on their architectur, i'ts shonnen. Death note is not one piece( which are my second better animé/manga after dragon ball.) DN is dark and psichologic. It’s not a long animé.

Because if the anime you wanted them to react to would have been more legitimate, what would have been the point? Did you vote? If so, what were your reasons for Haylo and Kiss reacting to a different anime? Because you would have liked to introduce them to an anime you enjoy. I would add that Death Note had already been suggested but not chosen, and who was shocked by that? They might like Death Note, and in that case, we will have introduced it to them. We can only be happy about that, right?
