After listening to both sub and dub, English Dub is actually so much better. Japanese dub sound like they're just easing the script. The English VAs put a lot more emotion in, plus, it's more iconic.

exactly. I’m from brazil so i saw the “digital inclusion” happening while growing up. It’s funny/sad to see how the “sweet lady” across the street is all about genocide and dictatorship

L, as he has mentioned, made his assumptions based on the death cases. He used the fact that criminal who recently died of a heart attack had their face and name displayed on TV to assume that Kira somehow needs a face and a name to kill (since not even people with faces but no names have died). Then he used the fact that the first criminal who recently died of a heart attack was a person whose name and face was displayed in this region of Japan, to deduce that Kira is probably in this area.

The philosophy behind this show is so interesting. I mean yeah maybe 1 out of a 100 criminals Light kills might've been truly innocent, however by killing all these criminals it prevents a lot of future crimes from happening through pure fear. So maybe the collateral damage is needed in order to live in a safe society. It just depends on your morals. Anyway great reaction, I can't wait for the rest!

2026-09-06 10:00 It’s scary how Al this comes so easily to Light. There’s no hesitation. I mean both him and Ryuk were tired of the routine but Ryuk was simply looking to be entertained. Light acts like a real monster accepting all this like this was meant to happen for him.

I don’t think they should switch purely because they’ve started sub already, but Death Note is one of the few shows where the dub is as good as the sub and definitely worth watching.

If the dub is as good, I'd still say sub because original performance so I'd stand by sub always unless you literally can't do subs at all for any reason

I don't get why people are praising the dub for this anime like it's some divine enlightenment. It's not. Yes, the VA's are talented and put in work, but to say they are levels above the original language is just plain wrong. It just sounds like any other anime that is dubbed over, but it happens to work slightly better for this genre than most others. That's it. Stop pushing for it so badly, the original language is equivalent, or better, depending on your personal taste.
