Wow, the anime's pacing issues are really starting to show in this arc. Anyone else think that the next arc would be a great time to switch to OnePace?

Absolutely not. One Pace is fine for a rewatch, but absolutely not for the first watchthrough. In general, Haylee and Carissa don't tend to get triggered by slow pacing. I appreciate One Pace for what it is - but ultimately, it is not an official cut. There are so many times where I've been frustrated by One Pace for spoiling emotional moments where they got overzealous with the cutting. Not to mention the times they cut out non-canon stuff that actually adds to the characters.

You make some really good points. There are some non-cannon "between panel" moments that do add to the experience, and it would be a shame to lose that. Though, I gotta say that emotional moments and immersion also get spoiled by heavily repeated reaction shots or stretched and padded scenes. IDK, maybe the pacing issues don't bother them, but if they do then maybe its worth giving OnePace a try? I think both formats have comparable pros and cons

Oi, oi, Kiss. That fake explosion is on Toei, not Oda! The explosion in SAD room is also a filler. It's kinda like what they did on Thriller Bark when they showed the island completely gone after Kuma's Ursus Shock at the end of the episode xD Franky's fights are always absolute cinema in one way or another :D What a crazy Iron Pirate my man is. Doffy is on the way, yikes!

Punk Hazard is the last arc that averaged with one chapter per anime episode. So this is how it looks when they gotta stretch 15-19 pages of manga over like 15-19 minutes of the animation. And it only gets worse with each next arc. Only the current arc will get close to 1ch/1e but it's only due to that half a year hiatus. I think Toei will have more hiatuses in the future so they can make good pacing episodes in the final arcs.

The explosion in the SAD room is canon, but yes, the fake explosion is filler and feels so out of place😅
