Just in time for my dinner, heck yeah

DarnedStingray8

I have so many vids to watch, today, but I dropped everything else to watch One Piece with you guys!

DarnedStingray8

Sidenote: pumped that my comment on the last vid made it onto the opening!

Mone

Damn, the episode 666 comment made me go 'ooohhhh' 😯😳

Patayo99

Sorry, kiss, but from now on you have to say “strong right” every time together with Franky.

Tylo

Im glad you two are enjoying this ark so much, a lot has happened and there are so many more surprises on the way. Keep up the great work.

A quick google found this reddit thread about being Hard Boiled - https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePiece/comments/2f8bht/define_hard_boiled/ It seems to have come from manly Noir Detectives who are manly men, and usually a bit dark or gritty and serious. They also usually follow their own code of manliness, honor, or morality. Senor Pink is a super duper parody of this type of character. And Franky has some of those qualities too! And of course, Garp's right hand man Bogart is based loosely on Humphrey Bogart!

NightmareModeGo

Hard-boiled is like old fashioned chat for tough and manly. Like you'd describe a noir detective as hard-boiled.

Fold

Don't try to define a hard-boiled man you'll only get burned.

Garp's Fist of Love

I would assume that the thing with Cavendish is inspired by a combination of Dr Jeckyll & Mr Hyde and Jack the Ripper, the backstory even seemed London based with that clock

Jonathan Charles

I agreed initially with everyone's protests about the pacing of this arc based entirely off my memory of it. However, going back to it now with you guys, it's progressing much faster than I remember. I guess that's the beauty of not having to wait for one episode per week any more.

Kapitány Zoltán

The real slow down begins later, with the fights. So far watching 6 episodes per week seems good, but watching it weekly back in the day, this part was already pain.

Wojciechu

Behold, for you are about to witness the manliest fight EVER! XD Doffy the cocky is severely underestimating our crew :D

Wojciechu

You agreed because it's a trend to hate on Dressrosa pacing while in fact it's not that bad compared with what's about to come later 😬 It's just the first arc that happened to drop below the ratio of 1 chapter per 1 anime episode and got the worst fame for that, thus becoming infamous XD

If you can swim and eat a devil fruit you don't forget how to swim, in theory you are still able to swim. But if a devil fruit user gets into water the person lose their strength and become too weak to swim. Once a devil fruit user is fully under water they are more or less paralyzed and can barely move, so it is impossible for them to swim. Senor Pink does not swim in water so he does not lose his physical strength.

Hard boiled is a Japanese meme of sorts. Its in reference to the attitude that old detectives have after seeing it all over the years. Think 80 tv detectives like Kojak, columbo. dick tracy and so on

Jonathan Charles

It could well be a case of cultural misremembering, like “Luke, I am your father” type of deal. I wasn’t jumping on a bandwagon just for the sake of it, though.

Tabo51

I see that some have already gone ahead and defined "hard boiled" but it was used quite regularly a century ago. It's one of those slang words didn't withstand the test of time in America but somehow stuck in Japan.

Neonic Rayne

Come on Solo Leveling, tonights the night!

Mugiwara

Rebecca didnt do anything lmao

Jhjoe

I don't get why Crunchyroll uses the B word so much. In Japanese, it is just "That girl/woman".
