you probably already know this if you watched next episodes, but just in case: a set is usually played to 25 points, BUT a team must win by 2 points. match point is when a team needs 1 more point to win the set, so from a moment both teams are at match point, one team needs to score 2 points in a row so: 25-20 → set ends 25-23 → set ends 25-24 → does NOT end 26-25 → does NOT end 27-25 → set ends 30-28 → set ends

Something to also take a mental note of: This match is a 3 set match so all games go to 25 points (excluding deuces). If a match is 5 sets and it's tied 2-2 after 4 sets, the 5th set is a 15 point game (excluding deuces).

That set that you accused Oikawa of holding too long was likely just due to the cinematics of putting the moment in slow motion for dramatic effect, but you are correct in that if a setter holds on too long that it could be called for a violation known as a "Carry." But Oikawa did it right by the net where the ref is standing so it was a legal play.

A few things as we’re getting close to season two: 1) You may have already recorded it, but episode 24 has a post-credits scene you won’t want to miss. 2) There is an OVA called “Haikyu!! Lev Appears!” that you’ll want to watch before starting season two, or at least before watching episode 4 of season two if you’ve already started recording season two episodes. 3) You may want to skip the opening and ending until episode two, episode three if you really want to avoid spoilers. Nothing major, but something to consider if you haven’t started season two yet.
