Welcome Back!! Last set is gonna be so exciting!

PG Modehouse

So much subtext to extrapolate on, from the backstories for Tendo and Ushijima. This is just a theory and unconfirmed, but I believe Ushijima is on the spectrum, and his area of interest is only Volleyball. When Tendo asks him very personal questions, Ushijima is totally unfazed and just answers him. He's very blunt, very literal, and takes things at face value. When Tendo celebrates his Overpass Attack after Karasuno struggles to return it in episode 4- Tendo: "VICTORY!!" Ushijima: "Tendo, there's two more points to win the set." Tendo: "Uh, yes, I know that." The scene of the Ushijima's maternal side of the family (the one his father married into) trying to change him to be right-handed is an indicator that they are very traditional, as it's considered inauspicious to be left-handed in superstitious households. The house's design, the rock garden's ornateness, the tatami flooring, and the kimono on his grandmother are indicators of old money, formal, and emotionally distant according to the usual tropes. After his parents separated and his Dad moved overseas, he was raised in that restrictive environment. But the driving passion in his life comes from his Dad's influence. Tendo's insane kill block he pulled off as a kid, on those classmates who bullied him for his unfortunate looks, ended up informing his whole style of 70-120% guess blocking. With every successful kill block, he's scoring yet another point on his bullies. If he's gonna get called a Yokai (a spirit/monster/demon from Japanese Folklore), well... he might as well play the part, right? That's why he's a mischievous trickster on the court and a little uncanny and unsettling. Tendo is zany and unpredictable, Ushijima is literal and blunt. I FRIGGIN LOVE that Tendo and Ushijima have become friends.

If I were to borrow Tendo’s words too, I’m glad to get back into their reactions again

KIMI

A thing that is rarely talked about is how sentimental volleyball is for Ushijima and how his passion for being great at it is was sparked by his father

Hugo Coutinho

seeing tendo have this ego blocking, i would love to see them react to Blue Lock
