The way Carrot drew the Strawhats was a callback to the old Margaret-style art. It started in the female-catered shoujo magazine Margaret and really took off in the 1970s. It shaped the way shoujo manga is drawn. The large eyes, sparkles, flowers everywhere, elaborate outfits and dreamy aesthetic can be seen even in works today. I just love this style so much.

That final still frame of Sanji running with Luffy injured in the background feels right out of a romance haha These are filmed in advance so pointless to ask but I really hope Friday is a triple drop!

Sanji and Luffy being on the same floor and ALMOST meeting up is just frustrating. Dammit Oda for creating more tension! I also recommend triple drop for Friday, this part got really dragged for dramatic effect like the seducing woods episodes. Just push through it!

On the topic of Reiju I find her to be a very interesting in what she shows us as viewers. The primary theme of whole cake is family and what having a destructive and harmful parent does to you as their child and what you carry with you as you grow. Reiju earlier on says to Sanji she can’t go against Judge and I was never sure if that was literal in that the experimentation that they tested on her first before they perfected it with the brothers forces her to obey or if she means that metaphorically, that she has been driven too deep into her family’s world and she can’t ever see herself escaping like Sanji did, even from a young age. She learned to cope and hide her emotions from her family to survive but as a result precipitated in their wrongdoings as well. Either way I think it shows how someone can be still influenced and unable to fully escape from their upbringing even while not being unredeemable (like the brothers and Judge are depicted) and how difficult leaving that behind actually is, which makes what Sanji has been able to achieve even greater. She is both a victim but has also passed on that harm to others and it makes for a complex character.

They are typically about two weeks ahead afaik, so it is definitely recorded. Not sure if Oriem proposed a triple drop for those episodes though

Yeah, that’s true. And it’s not necessary to do a three parter. But it would have been nice :)

I more meant like their viewing experience watching all three in a row. Sure they could stitch together the reactions in editing but I think the latter two episodes would hit harder if viewed in one sitting, that's all.

Luffy fought cracker from sundown to sunrise. Then then Sanji, then the army, then his way out to get back. He's not hungry, he's dying of hunger in a way only Luffy could. Sanji knows it too. He can't lie, he ment it when he said he'd starve to death before eating again

i think the Germa dilemma abt Reiju being redeemable is also applicable to her brothers. if she was the first test and her brothers are the perfected bloodline, does that not mean all the children are victims to judge? had they not gone through modifications, would the brothers be a little more like reiju and sanji? in my view, the debate feels more complex bc they were all made like this before they were born. So, if reiju was perfected and/or the brothers still had humanity like reiju or sanji, would the justification for either of their assassinations still hold strongly? what justifies the premature death of people? anyway,,,my opinion is BYE JUDGE👹
