i dont think the host show is an anime, I think it's like a kdrama I could be wrong though

"Ouran High School Host Club" is the closest anime to the one portrayed in this episode. I've heard it's a reference to it but I haven't confirmed it myself. It's a classic anime though. I've seen it both in sub and dub. Fun times were had.

This episode particularly hit me really hard. At work, at home with family I always tend to offer to do things myself / to help out even at the detriment to myself and it's a hard habit to break. Sometimes I have to tell myself that taking on my responsibilities first, will end up being the most help to everyone in certain situations. When I reframed my way of thinking regarding that I found myself being in a situation where I feel pressured or burdened less and less and was able to find time to help people at my own pace anyway.

Yeah a host/hostess club is like restaurant place where servers schmooze and make the customers feel special. Nothing extreme you just get a personal host assigned to you and some other servers can join in and mingle as well. It’s like a hooters but not so hooter-like.

'Russian Roulette' foods appear in a few anime. I'm not sure how much of a thing it is in real life, but essentially you have a bunch of things like takoyaki, chocolate, etc - anything you get in 'batches' of bite-size pieces. Most of them are normal, but one will be laced with tabasco or wasabi or something to make it super spicy.
