What Asumane was doing on his palm is like this; In Japan, there is a superstition that writing the kanji character "人" (hito, meaning "person") on the palm of your hand and pretending to swallow it can help you calm your nerves and regain composure. People often do this before a stressful event, such as giving a speech, taking an exam, or meeting someone important. The idea is that the charm helps reduce anxiety and gives you confidence.

Atsumu has one of my favorite VA's in this show. I always find myself replaying certain lines because of the way he says them. I could listen to his voice all day long 😂 Can't wait to watch this match with you guys! So many great moments to come ☺️

So back when this episode aired there was a long break of 6 months untill the second half of the season started. Get ready for even more characters and names to keep track off, this is a good one :D

“I already have my heart set on another” my interpretation of this was Tanaka is talking about Shimizu. Poor girl, but you gotta admire his dedication.

We've got some time for the next match so I'll save their name drop for later but I wanted to do a deeper dive into the tall and gorgeous "giant" Kanoka (wish come true song) Amanai (within the heavens). Amanai is a very rare Japanese last name with roots in Akita which neighbors Miyagi, where she and Karasuno are from. No explanation is given regarding the roots of her name but I'd like to think that it means that she's grounded and has an attainable goal whether it's Spring Tournament Champions and/or winning over Tanaka.
