The 50000 Calories a day was way way way of an extreme. xD Here is what Strongman typically eat per day: "Professional strongmen typically eat between 5,000 and 10,000 calories per day, though extreme competitors or peak training phases for massive athletes like Brian Shaw or Eddie Hall can push from 12,000 up to 16,000 calories daily."

Gojo measured in calories, but real food is measured in kcal (kilocalories), so 50.000 calories = 5000kcal

I love your reactions to MDUD! I think some slice of life/romance/high school series should be added to your polls as there's a few things in this series that's new to you guys but are pretty common outside the major shonen fantasy stuff. Would love to see you guys react to The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity, Fruits Basket, Aharen-san, Chihayafuru, Ouran High School Host Club, Madoka Magica, Maid-sama, My Love Story etc etc. I think you'd love them, and you'd spot the tropes and references from Dress Up Darling too.

I haven’t really thought about this calories issue in depth, but after reading what you guys were talking about, I got curious myself, so I double-checked the manga. First, Gojo explicitly mentions 50,000 kcal(you can clearly hear him saying kilocalories) in the anume, which the sub(as always) mistranslated as 50,000 “c”al (not Cal) And I checked the same scene in the manga, and it turns out the narration text was cut from the anime. The manga includes an extra line that says ‘his brain stopped working due to extreme shock’

Kotatsu is a table with a heater, some japanese houses have a little hole in the middle so you can comfortably rest your legs. It must be SUPER comfy in winter ❤️

That would be 50,000 small calories, as in lower case c. That is the same thing as saying 5000kcal, or large Calories.

Fragrant Flower is excellent, but I also wish more people would watch Horimiya. I follow a few reactors and it always seems to just barely lose out in the romance polls.

Agree I love Horimiya! Sadly romance shows just don't get the same traction and that series in particular is very underrated among reactors.

is not because calories vs kilocalories, it's just that Gojō was so shocked his brain stopped working. besides, in food labeling and nutrition kcal and calories are often used interchangeably anyways.
