For how much crap the crew gives Luffy on a daily basis (and vice versa), it's always iconic when they show that they all respect him as the captain, and will follow orders

Boating knowledge: Port is the left side of a ship, and starboard is the right side—always from the perspective of someone facing the bow, or front, of the ship. The stern of the ship is the back. Green Room is fictional. In One Piece, Jinbe uses it to mean a brief open pocket within a massive collapsing wave. He steers the Sunny into that space so it can ride through the wave instead of being crushed. (Important note, dont ever do this you will capsize the ship every time. Also, this is called a barrel or a tube in surfing terminology.) Trimming the sails means adjusting the sails’ angle and tension for the wind and the ship’s direction. It does not simply mean pulling them as tight as possible. Sailors pull in or let out the ropes controlling the sails—called sheets—until the sails catch the wind efficiently. Taut means tight, with little or no slack. A rope can be taut, but sails are not always supposed to be maximally taut; their ideal shape changes with the wind. In the Green Room scene, Jinbe takes control of the sail lines while steering. Nami is impressed because he is coordinating the Sunny’s sails and course at the same time with exceptional skill. He is effectively using the sails to control the ship’s speed and position while guiding it through the wave. A boatswain—pronounced “BOH-sun”—is traditionally responsible for deck equipment, rigging, ropes, sails, anchors, and maintenance. The helm means the whole steering setup or the position where a person steers. It can include a wheel, a tiller, or another mechanism. Rudder: the flat underwater blade that turns the ship. Tiller: a bar attached directly to the rudder. Whipstaff/helm: an upright wooden lever that moves the tiller through a linkage. Wheel/helm: another way to operate the steering system. In the live-action Reverse Mountain sequence, the crew breaks the wooden steering linkage. The upright piece is a whipstaff; without the connection to the tiller and rudder, the Going Merry cannot steer.

I'll throw Nami in there as well. She did a huge bit with launching the biggest attack in the show so far, controlling King Baum, and stepping in vs Cracker when Luffy needed a moment. Huge support role for her for this arc. Chopper did pretty good at leading the effort of giving everyone basically teleportation too.

I mean the family connections and their importance is pretty much the theme of this arc IMO. Sanji's connection to Zeff but also our crew plus Germa 66, the Charlotte family... I cannot imagine a world where Luffy would use human shields to deter an attacker, no way is he holding up the weaker Charlotte kids in front of Katakuri's punches. That's something Nami would do though lmao

If you remember back in Marineford, Jinbei made the Navy ship that they stole ride on top of Whitebeard’s Tsunami Wave. He has always been able to make a ship do what should be impossible.

While you guys seem to know why, for anyone else that's confused, at 17:28 ish mark when Luffy does that weird facial expression... Okay so if you ever got hurt at home and wanted to cry but your parents are home and heard you make a loud noise and they yell asking what happened but your silently crying but you want to respond back but not have them heard your crying and you make a weird face that also lets you talk normally and you yell back from another room "I'm okay I accidentally knocked my backpack full of books off my bed" or something like that. You obviously don't know what your face looks like but oda was portraying that.

Luffy literally did use one of Arlong's goons as a shield all the way back in Arlong Park, so he's not totally above it. He doesn't do it often though.

@DevilWearsAdidas thanks for the clarification and yes you're correct. To make it even easier to help and tip for booters (newly graduated bootcamp sailors). Port/ port side "Port four letters" "Left". "Starboard since it has multiple letters as do the word "Right and Starboard". And yes the Green room is for the anime.

Using the Triboelectric Effect, you can deposit electrons on another material, like rubbing your feet on carpet to generate static electricity. That is how Luffy uses his Thor techniques. It's just another inventive use of his fruit's natural powers. Much like how he reaches autoignition temps and vulcanizes his fist with his Red Hawk. This just goes to show you how poorly some people use their fruits.
